of course, we’re talking about… 📍 KEFALONIA
→ biggest of the ionian islands and honestly one of the most diverse — cliffs, caves, tiny ports and beaches in every shade of blue you can think of
📍 don’t skip
• fteri beach — yep, this is the one. officially ranked 2nd in the world and 1st in europe, beating beaches in the maldives, australia, fiji…
• myrtos beach — the iconic one!
• assos — pastel houses tumbling down to a pebble cove + a venetian castle above it
• fiskardo — the most picturesque village 🥹
🌊 more beaches worth the detour
• blue lagoon + kamari — same boat trip as fteri, same insane water, way less famous (for now)
• xi beach — pale green water meets red sand, total contrast to the rest of the island
• dafnoudi — very underrated, 600m walk in from the car park, no sunbeds, no crowds…
🚗 good to know
• rent a car! (Needed to go around the island)
• taking the lixouri–argostoli ferry instead of driving around the bay saves you almost an hour
🗓 best time to go
• june is honestly perfect — warm sea, way before the august crowds
• go early for fteri now that it’s “famous,” it’s only going to get busier
💡 useful tips
• lake melissani — go right at opening time, the light through the cave roof hits different in the morning
• stop at haritatos vineyard near lixouri for a robola wine tasting, non-negotiable if you like wine
• stay at @whiterocks_hotel and have the best hospitality experience of the island!

Parga is a charming coastal town on Greece’s Ionian coast that feels more like a Greek island than the mainland. Known for its colourful Venetian-influenced architecture, picturesque harbour and crystal-clear waters we loved spending a week here this summer.
💫 Here are the things you can’t miss if you’re planning a trip to Parga:
* Swimming at Valtos Beach
* Wandering the pastel streets of the old town
* Watching sunset from Parga Castle or @Kastro1380_parga
* Taking a water taxi to Sarakiniko Beach (you can also drive here and park at Resalto Tavern like we did)
* Doing a boat trip to Paxos & Antipaxos (group tours depart daily from Parga or you can arrange private boat hire)

* Having an adventurous day out on the Acheron River

A country we have only previously travelled in our younger days 😂🎉 Athens has thoroughly surprised us, it is Europe’s oldest city lined with cobbled streets and beautiful historic buildings.
We had one full day to explore and spent a lot of time at the Acropolis, studying the ruins and enjoying the views.
