I’ve never done anything that gave me more anxiety than knowingly not living up to my potential. You can pretend like you’re doing your best, or give yourself excuses why you can’t, but you’ll always be anxious anyway. Cause when you’re genuinely giving something your all, confidence and joy is a natural side effect !! Stop letting fear of failure, fear of success, fear of anything get in your way - there is so much freedom in action!! #habitsforsuccess #motivationdaily #purposedriven #dothework #selfimprovementdaily #growthmindset
HOW TO OVERCOME INNER RESISTANCE & FEAR OF FAILURE • - The first step is to identify what is the most important project for you to be working on. Turns out, there’s a simple answer to that. @steven_pressfield explains here and on the Huberman Lab podcast out now. - Comment OVERCOME in the comments section below if you would like me to DM you direct link to the podcast (in all formats). - Steven Pressfield is the author of The War of Art and seasoned expert in how to overcome the inner force of “resistance”—the self-sabotaging tendency to procrastinate on your life’s most important work that keeps you from realizing your professional and creative potential. - As the author of numerous best selling books and screenplays, Steven understands resistance, first hand, and how to overcome it. - Instead of giving inspirational stories or quotes, he shares actionable tools for defeating inner resistance that work. His approach is concrete, and can teach you how to work like a pro even if you’ve never been published or are entering a new field. - Steven’s routines for cultivating discipline and focus, including his physical training regimen (he is incredibly mentally and physically vigorous at 82), are applicable for anyone. - He gives you effective practical strategies for how to structure your day, overcome procrastination and self-doubt and do your best, most meaningful work. - The episode can be found on all platforms: YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc. Questions are also welcome; please put them in the comments section below. Who we are when no one’s watching—that’s the truth - our real character is revealed in the way we love, speak, and behave with the people closest to us. It’s interesting when you really think about it… We spend so much time worrying about how others perceive us, polishing the perfect mask for the outside world. But the real work—the work that actually matters—is shaping who we are behind that mask. If we focused on reconnecting and building the person underneath, we wouldn’t need a mask at all. We could walk out the door as our true selves, everywhere, with everyone. #consciousparenting #motherhood #dothework
Having a painful backstory explains you, but it doesn’t excuse you. I’ve met people who use their “lore” as a reason to hurt others, and people who use it as motivation to grow. Your trauma might not be your fault, but how you treat people because of it is still your responsibility. Which one are you choosing? #accountability #dothework #choosegrowth #selfawareness #cyclebreaker
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS • - My guest on the Huberman lab podcast out now is Steven Pressfield, author of numerous best selling books and screenplays. We discussed how to overcome resistance and procrastination using practical tools, not mantras or inspirational language. - Steven wrote his first book at 52 (!) and at 82 is still incredibly mentally and physically vigorous (!) He resistance trains 5 days a week at 4:45 AM, and approaches his writing with the same rigor. 2 hours a day every day. No exceptions. - Here we are discussing what happens if you do not pursue your dreams. And while that might seem like a luxury, there are numerous accounts of people finding an hour or two per day to write or draw or do things to build out their creative dreams. - His point is not meant to scare people into doing what they love, but rather to consider seriously what they most want and to make the pockets of time to pursue that. - His point that the energy we are endowed with to make our own unique contribution to the world is a sort of divine energy is one I subscribe to… and I agree that if we don’t channel it correctly, it can end up being destructive. - The episode is filled with practical tools for very busy people that work. - The episode can be found on all platforms: YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc. and is linked out to all these at Hubermanlab.com - And as always, thank you for your interest in science! @stanford.med @stanford @steven_pressfield #neuroscience #science #ciencia #neurociencia #dothework #calling #divine #energy #procrastination #overcome #resistance

Comfortable or uncomfortable… do it anyway. Ready or not… start anyway. High energy or running on fumes… show up anyway. At your best or your becoming your best self … step out anyway. This is what my “by design” really looks like. Because I didn’t wait for the moment… I designed it 🙏🏽 I was told years ago that "God Moves with MOVERS" ... and that changed my life & any cracks of procrastination, fear or avoidance forEVA! Keep moving no matter what the emotion - Because if YOU don't do it, someone else will & that's THE worst feeling EVER! Whew!! So "Pick up your bed and WALK!" (Or crawl, run, fly, whatever, just #dothework!

Being a dad is not a title. It is a calling. An obligation we choose every day. Not to have it all figured out. But to show up. To be present. So they never have to wonder. Never have to earn it. You matter. Right here. Right now. #DadTalking #Fatherhood #BePresent #DoTheWork #YouMatter
