Looking for a creative dorm storage solution for a shared dorm room?  You have to see one of our favorites, the “Fridge Bridge”!  This structure perfectly solves the need for both a kitchen and 2 nightstands in one small place. To build it between two captain-height beds, simply place your mini-fridge in the middle and flank it with two heavy-duty 13-inch wood cube organizers. You can use 3 or 4 cube organizers depending on your bed height. It’s important to use 13-inch cubes (the smaller 11-inch versions aren’t deep or sturdy enough).  Then, top it all with a 15-inch deep closet shelf cut to 55 inches.  This setup gives both roommates a highly functional shared nightstand, creates vertical storage for snacks and appliances, and provides a designated coffee bar and charging station.  Want the exact measurements and direct links to everything you need? RULES: Can vary wildly - some schools allow adhesive strips and hooks, some only allow putty or push pins, some only allow painter’s tape, and some don’t allow anything at all. There are even schools that limit how much wall space you can cover! WALL-TYPE: Cinderblock and brick behave very differently from drywall or heavily textured surfaces - and sometimes it takes a little trial and error. A few tips: ✅ Read and follow the instructions - especially when it comes to adhesive strips. Clean the wall and yes, wait the full time before hanging anything. It really matters. ✅ Painter’s tape is your secret weapon. If adhesive strips aren’t allowed, apply tape to the wall first and stick your strip on top. If you’re dealing with concrete walls where nothing seems to stick, try hot glue on top of the tape instead - parents swear by it, and it peels off cleanly at move-out. ✅ Be prepared with a few different options at move-in. You may find that one thing doesn’t work, so you have to shift to another solution. And if you don’t have your dorm assignment yet, hold off on buying anything until you can research your dorm rules.
