#DownstateStrong
This weekend @crossfit communities around the world completed the “Murph” workout in honor of Lt. Michael Murphy and all those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we have in this country. Downstate was no exception - our members showed up all morning long with their families and friends and got to work to pay tribute in our own little way. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 #memorialday #murph #crossfit #mdw #downstatestrong #downstatecrossfit
Sometimes you gotta listen to the streets. 👂
Y'all been telling me straight up - "Drew, we see you highlighting #Chicago, #Peoria, #Springfield... but what about some downstate love?"
Message received. Message acted upon. 💯
That's why I'm standing here at Southwestern Illinois College 's brand NEW Gene Haas Advanced Manufacturing Center in Belleville, Illinois - my #1 top trade school in the state.
This facility is absolutely INSANE, and it's right here serving the Metro East community.
To my STL, Belleville, Cahokia, and Metro East family - THIS is where you can make it in Illinois. State-of-the-art equipment, world-class training, and pathways to careers that'll change your whole family tree.
Real leadership means showing up where your people need you most. Not just talking about manufacturing renaissance - BUILDING it in every corner of our state.
The downstate hustle hits different, and SWIC is proving that excellence doesn't have a zip code. 🔥
Question for my network: What other downstate gems should I be highlighting?
Drop your recommendations below - I'm listening and I'm coming. 👇🏽

Nurses are the backbone of our health system, and we need a strong workforce to address challenges in rural & downstate Illinois.
Grateful for institutions like @memorialhealthil and @illinoisstateu for opening doors for students to enhance the well-being of their communities.
“Strong Will" ripped straight from End Year Gigs Vol. 05 embraced by @downstate.mc last December.

The debate of “sauce” or “gravy” looms over our offices across the state today on #NationalPizzaDay.
Our Downstate Audit Unit has a strong stance on this debate and we want to hear from you.
Do you think it’s “sauce” or “gravy?” Vote in our poll on Instagram stories.
Relief could be coming this week to parched Upstate New York. ☔️❄️
A strong storm system will bring enough rain — and maybe even heavy snow — to Upstate New York to ease the drought that has sparked damaging wildfires in the Catskills and downstate, according to the National Weather Service. Tap the link in our bio to read the full forecast. #thisisupstate

📍Bobo’s Cafe
Chappaqua, NY
Need a quick coffee run in downstate NY, run do not walk to Bobo’s Cafe. The most delicious coffees, especially the Iced Matcha. It tasted similarly to ice-cream. Cannot express how amazing the matcha was.
☕️ Iced Coffee + Oat Milk
(for strong coffee lovers)

Clean Slate is PASSED! And we’re STILL CELEBRATING 🙌🏾🔥
Antonio Lightfoot, Deputy Director of the Illinois Coalition to End Permanent Punishments is celebrating BIG: over 2 million people will now have their records automatically sealed.
From Chicago’s West Side to Bloomington, Joliet, Metro East, and downstate towns — 77 counties strong — our people organized, called, texted, filed witness slips, and refused to quit.
This win belongs to the community. This win belongs to YOU.
Thank you for showing up. Thank you for fighting back.

Clean Slate is law because the people made it so.
