As Drew Brees is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, I found myself tearing up at this memory. Not because of his autograph—but because of the kindness in the moment. Something many of you have experienced when you’ve met him. It meant so much to our kids to have this time with him back in 2024 …right before we moved back home. As a military family, we worked hard to make sure our kids knew their roots—what home means, and why New Orleans will always be such a big part of who they are. For so many New Orleans families, the Brees family was synonymous with the city itself…it was so much bigger than him playing for the New Orleans Saints. They chose New Orleans at a time when so many questioned if our home was even worth saving. Full. Circle. Congratulations, Drew, on a career worthy of Canton.⚜️

Drew Brees surprised Sean Payton with a FaceTime call to let him know he wants him to be his presenter at his Hall of Fame induction ceremony next week. Payton got emotional and choked up as he found out. 🥹 (🎥 @Saints)

When are the Saints gonna put up a statue of Drew Brees?? 🤔 Drew Brees didn’t just change the Saints, he changed the entire city of New Orleans. He brought a level of consistency and leadership that helped turn the Saints into a powerhouse, and of course, he gave the city its first Super Bowl. For years, Brees was the guy New Orleans could count on every Sunday, and his connection with the city was bigger than football. Is Drew Brees the greatest athlete in Saints history? Drew Brees on the moment that changed the way he approached his career. After a tough game in 2003, his coaches asked why he didn’t throw to an open receiver. Brees answered, “I couldn’t see him.” Their response was simple: “It’s your job to see.” For Brees, it became a lesson in accountability. At some point, every athlete has to stop making excuses and take complete ownership of their performance. He describes it as a conscious decision that eventually becomes part of who you are. Years later, Brees retired as a Super Bowl champion, Super Bowl MVP, and one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in NFL history. The standard changes when you stop looking for reasons and start looking for solutions. #Football #NFL #CFB
