Dicen que las sirenas no eran como las imaginamos… 🧜♀️
Durante siglos, marineros confundieron a los dugongos con sirenas por su silueta y su cola.
Siempre soñé con ver uno… y por fin pasó en el Mar Rojo.
Un animal increíble, tan tranquilo y especial.
Fue precioso encontrarlo, pero al entrar al agua había 50–60 personas, así que decidimos terminar el tour.
Ojalá aprendamos a admirarlos con más respeto, sobre todo cuando se trata de especies vulnerables.

On the video this is a seacow/dugong 😊 One way to tell the difference between a manatee from a seacow is by the shapes of their tails: manatees have a broad, rounded tail, whereas dugongs/seacows have fluked tails, a bit like whales’ tails.
