Top tips for parents teaching their own kids to ski from a ski instructor and mom.I’ve taught hundreds of kids to ski, including my own kids at 18 months.
▪️Always keep it fun - when the fun stops, go home
▪️Set expectations low…even lower…good!!
▪️Buy an edgie wedgie - the best $10 you’ll ever spend on skiing
▪️Plan on skiing backwards - it’s the best way to engage your kids and get them to focus
▪️Bring ALL THE SNACKS and pass them out generously. TicTacs and mini M&Ms are our faves
▪️Ski harnesses are great, but mostly for the handle to pick kids up - it will save your back
▪️Constantly tell your kids how awesome they are!
▪️Avoid the crowds by going midweek or to a small resort
▪️Don’t stress about getting kids to turn. Have them watch and follow you while YOU turn and it will happen naturally
▪️Invest in good waterproof clothing - cold kids are always miserable
