Sometimes the right resource shows up exactly when families need it most. I’m honored to serve our community as an Education Liaison with FACT (Families and Children Together). Every day I get to walk alongside families who are navigating special education, school systems, and services for their children. And if you’ve ever been in that space, you know it can feel overwhelming. You don’t have to figure it out alone. FACT exists to help families understand their rights, advocate for their children, and build stronger partnerships with schools. If you are a parent, caregiver, or educator who needs support with: • Special education navigation • IEP understanding and advocacy • Connecting to community resources • Empowering families to speak up for their children Reach out. That’s exactly what I’m here for. 📍 Serving families in Saginaw and surrounding communities 📧 [email protected] The Hub is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with walk-ins welcome. Evening hours and appointments are available by calling 877-745-7797. Because when families have the right support, children have a better chance to thrive. 💙 #FACT #SpecialEducationAdvocacy #ParentSupport #SaginawCommunity #DisabilityAdvocacy FamiliesFirst

Important conversation for parents of students with learning differences. We recently saw a story about a special needs student suing her high school after graduating with a first grade reading level. It raises a question many schools and families quietly struggle with. Is graduating on time always the right goal? At Dickens Sanomi Academy, our focus is not on rushing students to a finish line. Our focus is making sure they are truly prepared when they cross it. For some students, that means additional support. For others, it may mean more time. Graduation should represent readiness, confidence, and real progress, not just the completion of 12th grade. Sometimes the most supportive decision we can make together with families is allowing a student the time they need to develop the skills that will help them succeed beyond school. Our responsibility is not just to graduate students. It is to prepare them for life. #DickensSanomiAcademy #StudentSuccess #SpecialEducation #EveryStudentMatters
