This is a common mistake I see with e collar training- don’t hold pressure on stay. Why? Because the dog is already “doing” the command. When an e collar is conditioned properly, the dog learns: Command is asked/ low pressure turns on → do the known behavior → pressure turns off. For example, with a command like come or sit, the dog can turn off the pressure by following through with the command. On stay, the dog is already in position, therefore they shouldn’t be feeling any pressure.
So does it make them more stressed? Let’s look at the evidence 💕 If you have any questions about how to started with e collar training, message me! I’d love to hear from you and help 🫶🏼 . . . . . . . . . . . #dogtrainingtips #ecollartraining #reactivedogs #dogtraining
Are you nervous to use an e collar on your dog? Normalize off leash life with your trained dogs 🔥 You can tell the vibrate was more aversive to her than the stim! That’s often the case with all dogs! People just think “shock bad, vibrate good” if you only use vibrate with your dog I highly suggest getting a trainer, you don’t know what you’re doing :) The level I was using in this video was level 8! They are truly awesome tools! E collar training is also very expensive but it’s really not that complicated as long as you have a good understanding of some basic dog psychology and patience during the conditioning phase! Once you have a conditioned e collar MAN they are so extremely useful in your life with your best friend 🖤 as always this is just “A” way to use an e collar but not “the way” learn multiple ways! If you wanna learn how to do this I have a course subscription that teaches you 🔥 it’s an awesome community too:) see you there!
E collars don’t train dogs. The training that goes into e collar training, trains dogs. E collars reinforce the training you’ve already done, it’s just another means of communication and a way to talk to your dog from any distance at any time. Dogs who are trained with owners can follow through and reinforce the training live bigger and more fulfilled lives. Less frustration from the owners. More freedom for the dogs. Better quality of life all around. Dogs are meant to run, swim, and be outside. Training is the best gift you could ever give them. And…if you’re ready to fully off leash train your dog and MASTER your e collar skills, our Green to Graduate program can show you exactly how to do so. 👉Comment “GTG” and we’ll send you the link!

The biggest controversial subject around dog training seems to always be: E COLLARS. Say what you will about them, but if you've never seen them being used properly by a trained professional, you probably don't know what you're talking about! Here at K9 Intuition, we have saved countless dogs from being put down thanks to the very common mentality that "if a dog can't be trained without an E Collar, they should be put down". We've given families loving, affectionate, and well behaved dogs that would otherwise not be here, and a big part of that was thanks to our E Collar training ✅ Choosing the right trainer for your animal matters. For some of our clients E collar training is an option they prefer to use when doing off leashing with their dog. It is NOT a requirement to train with us but we’re happy to pair this tool with your dogs recall…JUST IN CASE 😉 The idea behind E collars is an invisible leash. It’s pressure from a remote in your hand vs the leash in your hand. Proper E collar training doesn’t mean you should be pressing the button EVERY TIME to recall your dog. Your dog should listen 99% of the time. The e collar is meant for the what if moments. If the squirrel you dog has been doing so well around for weeks/months looks a little too enticing that day. The clips included are how you should be using the collar. The dog is recalling over and over, the time he doesn’t we follow up with pressure. If you DONT like the idea of E collars, just replace the stim with some long line leash pressure. #offleash #ecollar #ecollartraining #recall #toronto
I want to be clear on a few things I never say never, i am sure that there are cases where a barking collar may be supportive for the right person and if that’s you PLEaSE let me know … I’d love to hear from you and learn about your experience BUT in my years in the behaviour mod space I have never needed to recommend this tool and don’t for the reasons I mentioned. Also, I am a fan of user operated e collar training done well, and know how many dogs lives are improved from proper use of the tool but automatic bark activated punishments are a huge risk to a dogs wellbeing in my opinion. What do you think ?
Freya has been doing E collar training with @maligator_training and her recall is finally paying off! Makes me so happy to see her run around off leash like she should and know she will listen. 🙌🏻 #malinoisofinstagram

I used to be so afraid to have any sight of an e collar on our instagram because I didn’t want to deal with the people who come at you for it. But if it wasn’t for our e collar training I wouldn’t be able to trust our dogs off leash on trails and they wouldn’t get the opportunity to run free and happy in nature like the animals they are! I will FOREVER swear by the benefits of e collars and you will never change my mind. Our relationship and confidence in our dogs is thriving🧡 ↟ ↟ ↟ ↟ ᨏ ↟ ↟ ↟ ↟ #utah #utahdog #utahdogs #visitutah #australianshepherds #australianshepherd #hikingwithdogs #aussie #aussies #aussielove #aussielovers #aussiesofinstagram #aussiesdoingthings #aussiepup #hikingdogsofinstagram #campingwithdogs #redmerle #redmerleaussie #aussieswithtails #hikingdog #dogphotography #petsbringustogether #goldenretriever #goldenretrieverpuppy #tactipup #goldenretrieversofinstagram #goldensofinstagram #hikingdogs #adventuredog #adventuredogs
How I did it 👇 Ok, I know I’m not the only one who lets my Siberian Husky off leash, but when I got him, I was fully prepared for him to spend his entire life either on a leash, or in an enclosed dog park. That’s what all my research and personal experience with the breed prepped me for. By the time he was 2, he got to be an off leash dog, and here are 3 things we did to achieve this! 1. We went to a breed specific trainer. After being told by a few positive reinforcement trainers with no hands on experience training a husky that it was impossible for a husky to be off leash and not chase prey, we found someone that promised us it was possible. I know there are online gurus that teach it, but we wanted someone to train us in the physical. And yes I say “us” cause it was mostly me getting the training. 2. Long lead training. I put a 30 foot lead on him, attached to a harness so that if it got caught on anything it wouldn’t choke him, and let him run in the woods. When I called him he got a treat for coming, and if he did see an animal he wanted to chase I could grab the lead and stop him. 3. E Collar training This is the one people hate on the most. But hey, we live in an area with grizzly bears, mountain lions, porcupines, moose, elk, and free range ranchers who can all ☠️ a dog! So if a little stimulation saves his life, so be it. The cool thing about the E collar is once they are trained, you almost never have to stimulate them, just a little beep and they know to come back. Now, I do recommend you get trained by a pro on how to use an E collar cause if they are not used properly they will mess your dog up mentally! #offleashlife #offleashk9training #siberianhusky #brownhusky
