Teaching is the profession that shows students the incredible potential they have that they might not yet see for themselves. Yesterday we opened the @educatorsrising program at Keystone Oaks HS in Pittsburgh, PA which will introduce high school juniors & seniors to teaching.

One of the highlights of the summer was celebrating the Second Annual Rising Stars Awards. From more than 100 nominations, we honored 15 extraordinary young leaders making a difference across Shelby County. Congratulations to our Rising Stars, and thank you to the families, educators, mentors, and community members who support them. Wishing everyone a great school year.

🎈 What a way to kick off the school year!⁠ ⁠ The APS Rising Educator Summit was filled with incredible energy from the moment our educators arrived. From high school mascots and spirited performances by Albuquerque High Mariachi, Albuquerque High Cheer, Cibola High Cheer and Dance, Cibola High Band, La Cueva High ROTC and Bandelier Elementary's Jump Club, our students helped create an unforgettable welcome for Team APS.⁠ ⁠ Here's a quick look at some of the excitement that started an amazing day of learning, collaboration and celebration.⁠ ⁠ #APSrising

Our Teachers for Tomorrow I & II students partnered with the adaptive program to create an engaging experience for ACHS students, faculty, and staff during 3rd and 4th periods in the cafeteria. We’re so proud of the teamwork, leadership, and heart shown by everyone involved. Special thanks to the Amherst Education Foundation for supporting this meaningful event. #ACHSLancers #LancerPride

Another fun speech today at the Ohio Rising Educators event. Christian and I spoke to more than 1,000 high school students who want to become teachers. We talked about believing in people, having grit, and getting 1% better every day. It was a lot of fun. The room was full of excited students. They also got to meet two Ironman finishers who used to struggle in school and didn’t fit in, even in special education classes. Today they saw that anything is possible when someone believes in you and you keep getting 1% better every day. Maybe today we changed a few beliefs. 💙🧡
