Girls deserve a childhood filled with play, imagination, and education. What if every girl had the chance to choose her own future?
CARE is working with communities to make that possible by supporting girls and bringing together boys, families, and community leaders to challenge harmful social norms and open the door to new possibilities.

The Force is strong with these boys. With Liam Neeson and Obidi by their side, they’re making a promise girls can count on, supporting them so they can stay in school, shape their futures, and grow up with real choices.
As International Women’s Day approaches, it is a reminder that equality isn’t something girls should have to fight alone but something we all protect and build together.
Help UNICEF turn that promise into lasting progress for every child.

“At first, I thought girls shouldn’t talk about these things.”
In Sopheak’s rural Cambodian village, periods, pregnancy and child marriage were never discussed openly.
But silence had consequences — girls missed school, faced stigma or were pushed into early marriage.
So Sopheak joined one of our youth clubs. She learned about her body. About protection. About her rights.
And then she began teaching others.
Today, she leads sessions on menstrual health, contraception and confidence.
She says, “Now we feel comfortable. We no longer feel unsafe — we feel a sense of connection and joy when sharing these lessons.”
Her work is changing minds — and changing futures.
Dropouts are down. Child marriage is declining.
Knowledge is power. And girls deserve it.
