How convenient it is to snip of the milk sachet to pour! But have we ever wondered where these small pieces of plastic end up? Even if these pieces are thrown into a designated non-biodegradable bin, do they actually make it to the landfill and recycling units to be processed? No, these small pieces disintegrate into microplastic, end up in drainage systems, and reach water bodies. In fact, recently, microplastics were found in human blood for first time. If all of us make sure we don't snip of that corner, we can save millions of microplastic particles from ending up in lakes, forests and the ocean. This #EnvironmentDay, pledge to do so and join our campaign #ItStartsWithMe that focuses on Indians making sustainability a priority in all walks of life.
