Nobody warned us that the longer you do this, the harder the jobs get but the less you care. 🖤
Fifteen years ago, a build would have kept us up at night. The planning, the material sourcing, the process of figuring out how to actually make it work — all of it would have felt like a problem we weren’t sure we could solve.
And then we solved it. And the next one. And the one after that.
That ceiling you’re watching us build…thousands of individual strips of material, hand-tied one at a time through netting….we had never built anything like it before.
There was no tutorial. No blueprint. We looked at what the end result needed to feel like and we worked backwards until we figured out how to get there.
That’s been the whole job for 15 years.
Every new client brings something we haven’t done before. Every new brief has a detail that pushes further than the last one. Every build has a moment somewhere in the middle where you look at what you’re making and think…
I genuinely don’t know if this is going to work 😂
And then it works.
The thing nobody tells you when you’re starting out is that the difficulty never goes away. You don’t reach a level where everything feels manageable and calm and figured out. You just get better at trusting yourself inside the hard moments. Better at starting anyway. Better at knowing that the uncertainty is part of the process, not a sign that something is wrong.
If you’re early in your career and everything feels impossible right now….that feeling doesn’t mean you’re not cut out for this. It means you’re doing something worth doing.
