After living here for 13 years, these are the reasons Scotland has completely won me over… 1. I can drive 20 minutes and end up somewhere that looks like it’s straight out of a film. 2. Small local businesses are everywhere, and they’re some of my favourite places to discover. 3. The changing seasons make everywhere feel new again. The same scene looks completely different in summer, autumn and winter. I especially love Speyside in Autumn, it’s magical! 4. It reminds me to slow down. I spend more time outdoors, appreciate simple moments and genuinely enjoy everyday life more. I’m Micky. If you love discovering Scotland’s hidden gems and seeing what daily life in Scotland is like, you’re in the right place. ❤️ #moray #visitscotland #scotland #hiddenscotland #explorescotland

The North Coast 500 (NC500) is one of Scotland’s most famous road trips — a scenic circular route around the northern Highlands, stretching for roughly 500 miles and taking in dramatic coastlines, mountains, beaches, castles and tiny Highland villages. It’s become such a popular road trip because you get to experience so much of Scotland in one journey — from wild coastal scenery and historic castles to beautiful beaches, whisky distilleries and some seriously spectacular roads. For my Scotland trip, I decided not to do the full NC500 but just added the North East section to a much bigger road trip around Scotland and based myself in Dornoch. From there, I spent a full day exploring this stretch: 📍 Tain & Glenmorangie 📍 Golspie & Dunrobin Castle 📍 Brora 📍 Lybster & Whaligoe Steps 📍 Wick 📍 Castle Sinclair Girnigoe 📍 Keiss Castle 📍 John O’Groats 📍 Duncansby Head & Lighthouse 📍 Dunnet Head 📍 Dunnet Bay I did most of these stops in one day, with Dunrobin Castle and Glenmorangie visited separately on my journey from Dornoch to Edinburgh. Vividly remember driving through Glen Coe in 1992 after nearly two years in the very beautiful but very flat Amazon basin. OBSESSED. That’s your your email found me. Obsessed with Scotland, specifically Edinburgh. I finally learned how fo say it correctly right before I left too: Ed-in-burruh (or just mashed together into Edin-bra works too apparently) This city hasn’t even been on my list, but I’m SO glad that @mileclassic lured me to Scotland so I could see this gem. We got SO lucky with weather, so I’m sure that’s massively impacting my experience here, but it was seriously so awesome! Some highlights: -Running around Holyrood Park -Trying Haggis for the first time (google it) as well as the local soda that tastes like bubble gum toothpaste, Irn Bru -Speaking to SO many kind Scottish people who were so proud of their country and welcoming us to experience it -Riding on the 2nd floor of the double decker buses all around the city 🚍 -Meadowbank park track and gym (week guest past is £20 and facilities are so nice!) -The pastries. Every single one of them. Even the one that was a sausage roll from @lannanbakery 😋 -Thrift shopping (and doing literally everything else) with @teenbean505 who has been my absolute savior this month 👸🏻 If you go to Edinburgh (which you should), DM me for recs and I’ll try to pass on my fav spots! #scotland #edinburgh #edinburghtourism #explorescotland
#ScottishHighlands #HighlandsScotland #ScotlandTravel #VisitScotland #ExploreScotland
