O acidente aconteceu enquanto ela tentava subir sozinha pela parte externa da estrutura e acabou escorregando de uma altura considerável. Frequentadores que estavam próximos agiram rapidamente e conseguiram amortecer a queda, evitando ferimentos graves. A ação foi elogiada por testemunhas e reforça a importância da supervisão e atenção redobrada em áreas de recreação infantil. A criança passa bem.

This past Wednesday, August 17, @cambodian.association and @laos_inthehouse came together for “In The Fold: A Tradition of Care”, an outdoor workshop where Lao and Khmer elders gathered to make traditional ceremonial blessing stupas from banana leaves, flowers, and craft materials. The activity created a space for cultural sharing between community members, weaving together creativity, storytelling, and spiritual practice. Rooted in tradition, the workshop offered participants a meaningful way to connect with nature as a source of wellness and grounding, while also providing a calming space for mindfulness, emotional balance, and community healing. We are deeply grateful to teacher Manica Thiphanh for the lessons and blessings, Auntie BK for the assists, Auntie Naly for her decorated pakwon and Kayla for Khmer translation, as well as Catzie, Sophia, Etty, Sokha, Kenny, Vuth and Methea for their support with set-up and clean-up. A special thanks to FDR Park for providing such a beautiful natural backdrop—the view from the boathouse with the lake breeze was 👌🏽✨💐📸👯‍♀️❤️

The vibes are always right, the vendors are gracious, and the whole market is a testament to immigrant resilience, cultural preservation and Philly pride.
