Follow @ferlattez for all the fall foliage updates in Québec 🍂
The colours are starting to show in the Vallée Bras-du-Nord, and if you’re looking for a WOW fall hike near Québec City, this is definitely one area to keep on your list. 🍁
📸 Videos taken on September 27th 2026. I expect next weekend October 3 & 4th to be even more colorful🤯🍂📸
Here are 3 hikes I’d recommend for experiencing the fall colours in the Valley:
🍂 Boucle de la Hauteur — 7.6 km • 2h10 • Moderate
🍂 Chute Delaney via Sentier Bras-du-Nord — 8.2 km • 1h52 • Moderate • 122 m elevation gain
🍂 Sentier Bras-du-Nord — 11.4 km • 3h17 • Moderate • 363 m elevation gain
The combination of colourful forests, waterfalls, river views and panoramic viewpoints makes the Vallée Bras-du-Nord such a beautiful place to explore in the fall. 🍂🥾
I’ll be sharing more updates as the colours move across Québec, so save this video + send it to someone planning a fall hike!

So glad we escaped the wet, gloomy Nor’easter back home in Boston yesterday! Up here in the Great North Woods, it was absolute magic— crisp air, blue skies, and fall colors absolutely showing off 🍁😍
If you’re planning a leaf-peeping trip, Dixville Notch is looking incredible right now!🧡
📍 Spot: Table Rock, Dixville Notch State Park, NH
🗓️ Date: September 26, 2026
🥾 Hike Details: ~1.5 miles RT via the Main Trail (steep incline, but worth every step for these views!)
💡 Tip: Wear shoes with good grip—some parts of the trail can be slippery, especially after rain.

Vermont in the Fall looks fake. It isn’t. ⬇️Here’s the route.⬇️
I’ve seen fall in 60+ countries. Nothing does it like Vermont. Save this:
🍂 Stowe — The classic for a reason. White church steeple, red barns, Mount Mansfield behind it all. Base yourself here for 2 nights minimum.
🍂 Smugglers’ Notch — 10 minutes from Stowe. A mountain pass so tight it closes all winter. The boulders come right up to the road. Go before 9am or sit in traffic.
🍂 Route 100 south — Vermont’s spine. This is the drive people mean when they say “fall foliage road trip.” Waitsfield and Warren in the Mad River Valley are the prettiest stretch.
🍂 Woodstock — Arguably the most photogenic town in America. Sleepy Hollow Farm is nearby, but it’s now permit-only during foliage season — check before you go.
🍂 Quechee Gorge — “Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon.” A 165-foot-deep gorge you can see right from the bridge on Route 4. Free, five minutes, worth it.
Timing: color peaks north to south, roughly the last week of September in Stowe to mid-October around Woodstock. Weekends are chaos — go midweek if you can.
Cider donuts are non-negotiable. Cold Hollow Cider Mill, on your way out of Stowe.

🍂October🍂
Watching a sudden gust sweep hundreds of orange leaves into the air feels romantic, melancholic and heavy all at once. It is a visual reminder that there is a quiet grace in endings, and that letting go can be a beautiful process..

My summer seasonal depression is hitting HARD this week and I’m over here surprised like this doesn’t happen every year around the same time…🙄☀️🥵
I’ve seen more discourse about summer seasonal depression recently (which I’m so glad it’s being talked about more!!!), but with it has come a lot of…well, misunderstanding. I’m seeing a lot of “oh yeah I hate summer and love fall so I have summer depression” and I am NOT here to tell anyone that’s not true, however, let’s also make sure we don’t trivialize the term (making something already rare/unusual seem less real) by acting like that’s the only symptom.
“Summer seasonal depression” or “reverse seasonal depression” can look like:
-feeling fatigued and drained due to the heat
-insomnia due to the longer sunlight hours messing with your circadian rhythm (a nice double whammy when you also have adhd that pushes your circadian rhythm by about 90 minutes later than the norm)
-overstimulation due to bright sunshine, constant loud noises of birds & bugs, etc.
-social isolation due to the pressure to constantly be doing activities but disinterest in doing any of them (even the things you love) or due to physical appearance concerns
-lack of appetite and unintentional weight loss
-mood fluctuations like increased irritability or anxiety
-changes in regular schedule causing stress
Once again, I’m not saying everyone who says “I have that too!” doesn’t, in fact, have it. I just want to make sure it’s talked about as a real diagnoses that has some very real symptoms…and not just a social media trend. 😅
Anyone relate?! My worst symptoms are the lack of appetite, insomnia, and fatigue/disinterest. I can’t wait for the cooler weather of late October to arrive. 🥲🍁
