Fuji + summer + crystal clear water… honestly, what more do you need? 📸🌊 There’s just something about shooting a Fujifilm around the Mediterranean. The colors, the tiny details, the way the light hits the water… it makes even a random beach day feel like a film scene. And this setup? Absolutely unfair. Here’s the recipe I’ve been using lately 👇 📸 FUJIFILM SUMMER WATER RECIPE 🎞️ Film Simulation: Classic Chrome 🌡️ Highlight: -1 🌑 Shadow: -2 🎨 Color: +2 🔍 Color Chrome: Strong 🔵 Color Chrome FX Blue: Strong 🌾 Grain: Weak / Small ⚪ White Balance: Daylight ↔️ WB Shift: R -2 / B -3 📉 DR: DR200 ✨ Clarity: -2 The goal: soft skin, deep greens, turquoise water and that slightly faded summer-film feeling. Save this recipe for your next beach trip 🏝️ And yes… I know you could just shoot your phone. But where’s the fun in that? 😂 Fuji + beach = the perfect combo. What would you rather take on a summer trip: 📱 Phone 📸 Fuji 🎞️ Film camera #fujifilm #fujirecipe #fujifilmx100vi #streetphotography #summerphotography
Took that first morning train from Shinjuku to Kamakura to beat the crowds. Was it worth waking up early? 100% 📷 Fujifilm X100VI 🎞️ Recipe used: Early Summer Film Simulation: CLASSIC Neg. Panning shots at night have become a go-to for me. I love the kind of imagery you can create, especially in Tokyo 📸 I shot these without using Drive Mode because I was running low on space on my SD card. Considering that, I’m pretty happy with how many shots I pulled off 😁 For anyone interested this is my own custom recipe 🎞️ Film Simulation: Benji’s Classic Chrome Dynamic Range: DR400 White Balance: 4600K WB Shift: R +3 B -5 Highlight: -1 Shadow: +2 Color: +2 Color Chrome Effect: Strong Color Chrome FX Blue: Strong Grain Effect: Strong Grain Size: Small Clarity: -3 Sharpness: -2 High ISO Noise Reduction: -4 #streetphotography #panningshots #fujifilm #x100vi #japan
Try this film simulation recipe on your Fujifilm camera 👇🏽 Reggie’s Superia: Film Simulation: Classic Neg. Grain Effect: Strong, Large Color Chrome Effect: Strong Color Chrome FX Blue: Strong White Balance: Auto White Balance Shift: R: 1, B: -3 Dynamic Range: Auto D Range Priority: Off Tone Curve: Highlights -2, Shadows -1 Color: +1 Sharpness: -2 Noise Reduction: - 4 Clarity: 0 (add a mist filter to your lens for a subtle fade/glow) The goal with this recipe was to make something moodier, grainier, and lean into more stark contrast. All the while still being carefully tuned for melanated skin tones. Unlike Reggie’s Portra, which was tuned for versatility and dynamic-range management, this recipe is more heavy-handed and film-forward. It is not meant to capture every tonal value in a scene nor recreate true-to-life color. Instead, it leans into predictable tonal tradeoffs and hue shifts that is reminiscent of film. Give it a try if you’ve been looking for an alternative to Reggie’s Portra, without compromising skin tone. I’ve confirmed Reggie’s Superia works beautifully on all Fujifilm X-Trans IV and X-Trans V sensors including the X-E5, X100VI, X-T5, and X-S20. It can work on older Fujifilm cameras as long as it has Classic Neg. Check my link in bio for the recipe usage guide.

This is the Fujifilm recipe I keep coming back to. As the name suggests, it was built with tropical trips in mind. It’s been tested by several photographers in different countries now, and it works beautifully across that kind of light and colour. 🎞️ Tropical Tales Film Simulation: Classic Neg Dynamic Range: DR400 White Balance: Daylight WB Shift: +2 Red / -5 Blue Highlight: -2 Shadow: +1 Color: +3 Sharpness: -2 Color Chrome Effect: Off Color Chrome FX Blue: Weak Long Exposure NR: Off Clarity: -1 Grain: Off High ISO NR: -4 ISO: Auto, Max 3200 Give Tropical Tales a try and see how it works for you. If you enjoy building recipes or experimenting with different looks and want some input on what’s working, what you might change, or how other photographers are approaching their own recipes, that’s something we look at inside the Focus Mode Community too. 💬 Comment COMMUNITY and I’ll send you the details.
