Taking photographs is a big part of who I am.
I carry it with me every day. I can’t leave the house without a camera, even if it’s such a hassle sometimes because there’s so much to bring—or even when, sometimes, there’s really nothing to shoot.
But I think this is how I try to find joy in the little things each day. It’s always in the back of my mind to look for something to photograph, things that are interesting to me. Aside from the people I’m with, I love photographing ordinary things—shapes, shadows, random textures, lines, and colors.
If the literal meaning of photography is “drawing with light,” then I guess that means I’m always looking for a source of light, even on dark days. Especially on dark days.
But that doesn’t mean I’m always successful in finding it. Some days are just gloomy and heavy. But what matters is, I still try to look for where the light is.
I think I want to take photos every single day because I see that there’s so much beauty to be found in the world, and because I know I’m not willing to stay in the dark.

If you’ve been wanting to start film photography, check out the Kodak Ektar H35 half frame film camera 📷 it’s lightweight, easy to use, and my personal favourite accompaniment to my travel journals while exploring new cities.
The Kodak Ektar H35 is a half frame camera, which means it uses a film format that is half the size of a standard 35 mm film frame. In easier terms, each photo has 2 shots, meaning for a regular 36 exposure film roll, you would get 72 exposures instead. I’ve shared some sample images in my previous posts in case you’re curious on how the photos look like!
