FLOWERING FIRE CIDER This is a homegrown batch & version of fire cider from our Farm, and you can make fire cider with a few simple ingredients: onions, garlic, ginger, a spicy pepper, horse radish, and herbs like rosemary, oregano & thyme. Cover it all in apple cider vinegar (raw with the mother) and honey and you’ll have your fire cider in just a few weeks. September is the perfect time to start this ancient remedy so you have it for the fall & winter months, amd I make big batches like this half gallon size so I can strain and share it with friends and in my classes. Have you ever tried making fire cider?🌺

Fire cider season. 🔥🌿 There’s something I love about reaching for the old-fashioned things as the seasons begin to change—the remedies made in our kitchens with roots, herbs, vinegar and honey. Fire cider is one of those. The version we know today was popularized by herbalist Rosemary Gladstar decades ago: a fiery infusion traditionally made with apple cider vinegar, horseradish, onion, garlic, ginger and hot peppers, finished with honey. And like most good kitchen traditions, it has evolved into a hundred different versions depending on who is making it and what their family needs. Mine is a little different, too. I skip the horseradish and build my fire with fresh ginger, garlic, jalapeño + serrano. Then I add fresh turmeric, citrus, pomegranate, hibiscus, peppercorns and raw apple cider vinegar. So many of these ingredients have beautiful properties of their own—ginger has a long history of use for digestion and nausea, garlic contains beneficial plant compounds, turmeric brings curcumin and antioxidant compounds, hot peppers contain capsaicin, and honey has long been used to soothe a cough or scratchy throat. Is fire cider a magic potion that guarantees you won’t get sick? Nope. 😉 But I do believe there’s something pretty wonderful about keeping these old kitchen traditions alive, eating a wide variety of plants, and giving our bodies a little extra nourishment as we move into a new season. A little nourishment. A little tradition. And a little fire. 🔥 I made THREE versions this year: 🌶️ my traditional spicy fire cider 🍊 a gentler version 🍍 a sweet + mild pineapple elderberry version for the kiddos RECIPES IN THE COMMENTS ↓ #FireCider #SeasonalWellness #OldFashionedRemedies #FromScratchLiving #PassionAndPoppies
FIRE CIDER 🔥 Honestly one home remedy I fully believe worked last year. If you feel that tickle in your throat or start having any congestion, a shot of this will clear it right up! TO MAKE: 1 qt jar 1/2 orange 1/2 lemon 1/2 yellow or red onion 3-5 cloves garlic 3in ginger root 1-2 sprigs of thyme 1-2 sprigs of rosemary 1-2 cinnamon sticks 2-3 C of apple cider vinegar 1. Add everything to your jar and cover with the apple cider vinegar. 2. Keep in a cool dry place and allow to sit for 2-4 weeks to reach full potency and then strain the liquid out (helps prevent spoilage) and keep the liquid all winter long. TO USE: dilute 1-2 tbsp in warm water with a tsp of honey #charmingchannings #firecider #homeremedy #coldandfluseason
🥃🍯🥂🌶🧄🧅🍋🍊🍋‍🟩🫚 Let me tell you why I kept this herbal remedy as the last one of this immune boosting series Imagine a traditional wellness remedy that tastes like a lightning bolt and works like a charm! That is Fire Cider, a spicy, sweet, and tangy apple cider vinegar tonic that people have trusted for decades to wake up their bodies and boost their immune systems. The History Fire Cider was created in the late 1970s by a famous herbalist named Rosemary Gladstar. She was looking for a way to make medicine accessible and easy to create at home using standard kitchen ingredients. The Ingredients Think of Fire Cider as a superhero team of fiery, health-boosting plants. The base is raw apple cider vinegar mixed with honey to balance the intense flavor. Inside, it is packed with: 🫚 Ginger and Horseradish: To ignite your digestion and warm you up. 🧄🧅Garlic and Onions: Nature’s classic deep-cleansers. 🌶Cayenne Pepper: To kickstart your blood circulation and make you sweat out the bad stuff. 🍋🍊🍋‍🟩Citrus (like lemons and oranges): For a bright splash of Vitamin C. 🌱🌿Rosemary, thyme, oregano and sage : for respitory support, coughs and added antibacterial and antiviral benefit 🪾Cinnamon and turmeric for even more anti-inflammatory benefits The Uses Fire Cider is incredibly versatile! Most people drink a small shot glass of it every morning to jumpstart their day, keep away seasonal sniffles, or fire up their digestion before a heavy meal. If a straight shot is too intense, you can easily mix it into hot water with a little extra honey, splash it over a salad as a zesty dressing, or use it to marinade your favorite savory dishes. It is loud, it is proud, and it is the perfect daily ritual to keep your body feeling vibrant and energized! My honest opinion, if you need one thing to help you survive the winter months, let it be this one !!! Trust God's provision. If you’re constantly dealing with bloating, reflux, post-nasal drip, frequent colds, or feeling like your gut is always “off”… It may be time to stop asking, “What can I take for this symptom?” and start asking, “How can I better support my body?” That’s what led me to Fire Cider. It’s made with raw apple cider vinegar, garlic, onion, ginger, turmeric, rosemary, and thyme—simple, traditional ingredients that have been used for generations as part of a wellness routine. ✨ Comment “RECIPE” and my team will send you my free video showing exactly how I make it from scratch. We’ll also include the link to my handcrafted Fire Cider if you’d rather skip the 4–6 week infusion process and have it ready to enjoy. #drsebi #mucus #inflammation #holistichealth #herbalism

FIRE CIDER 🔥 Save this recipe for later. Spicy, tangy and packed with bold ingredients, Fire Cider is a traditional apple cider vinegar infusion that’s especially satisfying to make at home. Ingredients: • 500 ml raw apple cider vinegar • 1 small onion, roughly chopped • 5–6 garlic cloves, crushed • 5 cm fresh ginger, sliced • 5 cm fresh turmeric, sliced • 1 lemon, sliced • 1 orange, sliced • 1–2 fresh chillies, sliced • 1 tbsp black peppercorns • 1 cinnamon stick • 2–3 sprigs fresh rosemary • 2–3 sprigs fresh thyme • 2 tbsp raw honey, added after infusing How to make it: Add the onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, citrus, chilli, herbs and spices to a clean glass jar. Pour in the apple cider vinegar until everything is completely submerged. Close tightly. If you’re using a metal lid, place parchment paper between the vinegar and lid to help prevent corrosion. Store in a cool, dark place for 3–4 weeks, gently shaking the jar regularly. Strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth and press the ingredients to extract the liquid. Stir in the honey to taste. Transfer to a clean bottle and keep refrigerated for best quality. Enjoy a small diluted serving, use it in salad dressings or add it to marinades. Save this recipe so you can make your own batch. And if you grow some of the ingredients yourself? Even better. #FireCider #FireCiderRecipe #AppleCiderVinegar #HomemadeRecipes #HerbalRecipes GardenToTable GrowYourOwnFood DubaiGardening UAEGardening MyFarmDubai
