I was going to put a trending audio over this, but the average-ness of this moment really needed to collide with the magnitude of finishing this work. Sitting in bed with a lap desk in sweats, no makeup, glasses and my roots coming in…a plethora of beverage cans piling up next to me…laundry spinning across the hall.
Yes, it’s only the first draft. Yes, it may go to the editor and be hacked to pieces, but it is complete.
Writing a book about midlife in the middle of midlife brought its own form of chaos.
Completing it in the thick of a brutal divorce process- next level.
Women can do hard things.
For everyone around me while I’ve been navigating it all- I love you and thanks for sticking it out….and putting up with me 😜
