@TheFlatironBuilding featured exclusively in @Newsweek: ‘Historic 1902 Skyscraper Hits Major Milestone as It Prepares to Re-Open’ The Flatiron Building is now illuminated for the first time in its 124‑year history, marking a defining moment in its restoration and residential conversion. The exterior lighting is designed by @LObservatoire_Intl, a global lighting firm known for its work on cultural institutions, including The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Lincoln Center, and the Guggenheim Museum.

Completed in 1902 by Daniel Burnham, the Flatiron Building was a prime architectural design at the advent of steel skyscraper construction in the #USA.  Known for its triangular design at the intersection of 5th Ave. and Broadway, the Flatiron Building’s iconic presence has transformed an entire area of Manhattan into the Flatiron District. It is a triangular 22-story, 285-foot-tall (86.9 m) steel-framed building which is considered to be a groundbreaking skyscraper. As with numerous other wedge-shaped buildings, the name “Flatiron” derives from its resemblance to a cast-iron clothes iron. 🎥: @architectanddesign #architectanddesign • #architecture #building #flatiron #ny #nyc #construction #reels
