Honestly, sharing your journey online always feels a little cringe... until someone messages you saying you inspired them to start flying. I never thought I’d be posting my flight training and aviation moments here. But if showing the real, unedited path to becoming a pilot helps even one person realize that their dream is possible, I’ll keep posting. You never know who’s watching. You never know who needs to see you keep climbing. Don’t stay grounded. 👊🏼😎 — #aviation #pilotlife #flighttraining #futurepilot #flying
Typical Part 61 stage check… (kidding) because if you’re going to be stressed, you might as well have a little fun! #flighttraining #StudentPilot #PilotLife #Aviation #generalaviation … This is an older video from my flight training, but forever one of my favorites✈️
1. Find an independent CFI You’re cutting out a lot of overhead. You’re working directly with the person teaching you and building a plan around YOU. 2. Train at a smaller airport Smaller airports usually mean less waiting, less traffic, and more time actually flying. Sitting on the ground burning money is one of the biggest killers. 3. Solo more during your PPL Once you’re safe and your instructor signs you off, use that solo time. You don’t need someone sitting next to you for every single hour. 4. Split time after your PPL Find another pilot working toward the same goal. Build hours, gain experience, and cut your cost per hour. 5. Don’t waste money on ground lessons Use your CFI for what requires an instructor. Study at home. Use free resources. Show up prepared. 6. Live at home if you can The biggest expense isn’t always flying it’s life expenses stacking on top of training. 7. Treat flight training like a business investment Track every dollar. Find ways to make more. Don’t just swipe a card and hope. #pilot #generalaviation #aviationreel #pilotlife #studentpilot
To everyone who says this career is only for the rich… Coming from A middle class family & someone who worked as A Cabin Attendant and a video creator for 6 Years just to be able to afford little I can for the course and clearing all my dgca papers first just to assure my family that I am really into it & before they spend lifetime of their savings for my course. I wouldn’t completely disagree, but I wouldn’t completely agree either when someone says, This career is only for the rich or Money is all you need to become A pilot. Yes, flight training is expensive, and you do need a significant amount of money to get started. That’s a reality. But having the money doesn’t guarantee you’ll make it. What truly gets you to the cockpit is passion, discipline, resilience, and the willingness to keep going when things get hard. This career is for someone who genuinely loves aviation—someone who’s willing to give it their whole heart, keep learning every single day, and stay committed even when it feels overwhelming. From the outside, becoming a pilot can look exciting and glamorous. People see the uniform, the travel, and the destination. What they don’t see are the countless hours of studying, the pressure of every flight, the failures, the self-doubt, the sacrifices, the patience, and the consistency it takes to earn that seat. There will be days when you don’t feel ready, but you still have to show up. There will be moments when you question yourself, yet you have to keep moving forward. That’s why I believe money is not the only one part of the journey. The bigger question is: How much are you willing to sacrifice? How badly do you want it? And are you willing to stay patient when success doesn’t come overnight? Many people fall in love with the glamorous side of aviation. Some even start the journey because of it. But sooner or later, everyone realizes the same thing—the glamour only comes after years of hard work, setbacks, rejection, failures, persistence, and yes, the financial investment. The dream seat isn’t reserved for the richest person in the room. It’s earned by the person who refuses to give up every single time.
5 things I think are actually worth spending money on in flight school ✈️ I used all of these during my Private Pilot training, and I still use most of them during Instrument: FAR/AIM App — ~$20
Way easier than carrying the physical book, and it stays up to date. Prepware — ~$10
One of my favorite written-test study tools. I scored a 92, and practicing by topic on my phone helped a lot. ASA CX-3:
If nav logs and flight planning calculations are giving you trouble, this makes life significantly easier. A good power bank:
Not exciting until your iPad or phone is dying before a flight. Mine gets used constantly. ForeFlight
Obviously great for navigation, but one of my favorite features as a student is being able to keep my charts, books, documents, and study resources organized in one place. You definitely don’t need to buy everything people recommend for flight school, but these are 5 purchases I’d make again. Save this if you’re starting flight training. ✈️ #studentpilot #flightschool #foreflight
Feeling like you're turning when your instruments say you're flying straight? That's why instrument training is crucial. Your body can get confused. Trust your gauges. #InstrumentRating #PilotTraining #Aviation #FlightTraining #PilotLife #AviationLovers #FlySafe

Here’s what I always tell nervous passengers to make them feel safer when flying. Turbulence has never brought down a modern airliner. * The plane is certified far beyond anything you will experience in flight. We still do everything we can to avoid it, talking to other aircraft and ATC, changing altitudes, and flying around it. The plane could handle it, but we want to make you as comfortable as possible. Every aircraft system has a backup. * In the event of a failure, each major system has 2-4 backups that automatically kick in if it detects an issue. From there we have checklists, training, and we come up with a plan! In the event of an engine failure. * The plane can safely fly with only 1 engine operating. It’s designed and certified that way from day one. Remember, we are trained for this, we practice it so often it’s routine. Pilots have a checkride every 6-9 months. * We go through all of the emergencies and systems to reinforce training, so we are prepared to handle the pressure. Our training and testing never stops. Want the smoothest ride? * Sit over the wing. It’s the closest spot to the plane’s center of gravity, so you feel the least motion there. And on every single flight.. * We carry extra fuel and a backup airport if the weather calls for it. We have extra eyes from our dispatcher and air traffic control. Redundancy and backup plans are what aviation is built on. If flying makes you anxious, tell the crew when you board. We genuinely want to know, and we’ll take care of you. We are always happy to talk and answer questions! #pilot #airlinepilot #studentpilot #pilotlife #flighttraining
