There aren’t many things in life that allow my brain to fully shut off. If you know me, you know I’m always full of ideas, chasing the next one, and usually figuring out how to make it happen. Real estate is a lot like that too — always moving, always thinking ahead, always working toward what’s next. I’m thankful the water gives me a place to reset and reminds me of something I try to carry into my business, too: you can’t force the timing. You can prepare, stay consistent, keep paddling, and trust that the right wave will come. Maybe that’s why I love both so much. There’s always another opportunity on the horizon — you just have to be ready for it. ✨ Side note - highly recommend an outdoor shower whether you buy a home with one or install it yourself.. totally worth the after beach rinse! Now let’s go find your home! #charlestonrealtor #follybeach #movingtocharleston #charlestonrealestate #movetocharleston
We are so ready for one of our favorite weeks of the year! 😍 Packing gets crazy for this many people, but we look forward to our trip to Folly Beach all year long. It’s one of those places that holds so many sweet memories for our family, and we can’t wait to make even more this time around!!! 🥹🤍 Here’s to hoping the weather is better once we get to the beach! ☀️ 🤞🏼😅 #packing #travelvlog #bigfamily #vacation #follybeach
Two Charleston beaches. Two completely different approaches to short-term rentals. And if you live here, own property here, or are thinking about buying at the beach, this matters more than you might think. 🏠 Sullivan’s Island: New vacation rentals are generally prohibited. Properties that were legally operating as vacation rentals before the town’s November 21, 2000 cutoff may qualify to continue under its grandfathered rules. 🌊 Folly Beach: Short-term rentals are a much bigger part of the community, but the rules are being challenged and rewritten. The city has been working around an 800-license cap on investor short-term rentals, and recent legal challenges have forced Folly to revisit parts of its ordinance. But this isn’t just an Airbnb conversation. It raises much bigger questions: What happens when the house next door becomes a different group of vacationers every few days? How much should a town be able to restrict what a homeowner does with their property? And how do you protect the people who actually live on the island without taking away an important source of income for other property owners? This is also why I tell buyers that you cannot treat “buying at the beach in Charleston” like one market. Sullivan’s, Folly, Isle of Palms and the surrounding beach communities can have VERY different rules, and those rules can directly affect how you use your property and potentially its investment strategy. There are two completely different versions of Folly Beach. Most people know the pier, Center Street, and the crowds. But if you're willing to keep walking, you'll find a quieter side of the island where the pace slows down and the views get even better. It's one of my favorite places to clear my head and be reminded why so many people choose to call the Charleston area home. Have you ever made the walk to the Morris Island Lighthouse, or is it still on your Charleston bucket list? 📍Folly Beach, SC #FollyBeach #CharlestonSC #ExploreCharleston #MorrisIslandLighthouse #Lowcountry #VisitCharleston #CharlestonLife #SouthCarolina #DronePhotography #CharlestonRealtor #CharlestonRealEstate #LiveInCharleston #LowcountryLiving #BeachLife #DiscoverSC
