Six signs (of many!) your relationship with food is improving 🫶 - a collaboration with @dietitian.rachelhobbs (Please note these are all in the context of struggling with relationship with food. Checking the menu, looking up recipes, etc. are not in and of themselves red flags!) #FoodFreedom #NutritionTips
So if you do eat tonnes of chocolate and eat 7000 extra calories all that will happen is you’ll gain a kilo and a week of normal routine aka your normal eating and workouts and not all the Easter eggs that’ll go, it’s not that deep ! promise - life is too short to not indulge every now and again, I learnt that the hard way too💗 (If you just ate more sugar and feel puffy again likely just water - enjoy yourself and move on!!)xx #whatieat #intuitiveeating #nutrition #gymgirl #foodfreedom
Scary things your body does when you restrict food ⚠️ No one warns you about this because it doesn’t happen overnight. It creeps in quietly… until your body has to shout. Here’s what I wish I understood sooner 👇 🧠 Constant anxiety for “no reason” Your nervous system stays switched on because your body thinks food is scarce = danger. 💔 Chest tightness & breathlessness Not your heart failing - your system stuck in fight-or-flight trying to conserve energy. 😴 Wired but exhausted You’re tired all day but can’t switch off at night because stress hormones are high. 🍽️ Food becomes stressful Hunger cues get distorted, digestion slows, and eating starts to feel overwhelming. 🏋️ Training feels heavier every week Recovery drops, strength fades, and your body stops adapting - even if you’re “doing everything right”. ❄️ Cold hands, feet, low energy Your body prioritises survival over performance. Non-essential systems get dialled down. ⚠️ You don’t feel like yourself anymore Less motivation. Less joy. Less connection. That’s not weakness - that’s your body protecting you. None of this means you’re broken. It means your body is asking for safety again. If this feels familiar: 💬 Comment “CALM” and I’ll send you the first step I use to help people feel safe in their body again. 📌 Save this - these signs are easy to ignore until it’s too late. You deserve to feel normal again. #edrecovery #restrictiveeating #fuelyourbody #disorderedeatingrecovery #foodfreedom

If you’ve ever felt guilty after eating something, watch and save this. You are NOT alone in feeling this. Diet culture gives us so many false beliefs about what we “should” and “shouldn’t” eating. It’s only natural to feel guilty after eating things. But there’s no reason to feel guilty after eating anything. Food is meant to be enjoyed. Constantly seeing food as calories or the enemy? This is a learnt behaviour and not normal. Yes - there may be a reason or season to learn about calories but if it’s causing you distress - it is a problem. 1️⃣Counting calories doesn’t teach you how to eat - it gives you instructions to follow. 2️⃣You’re not learning how to listen to your fullness and hunger cues. 3️⃣It drains your time, mind and life. 4️⃣ You forget how to eat when you’re not following this method. 5️⃣ It reinforces all or nothing thinking - eat too many calories? You’re probably going to spiral & binge. Want to learn a new way of eating that doesn’t involve dieting, binge eating or food guilt? Comment FOODNOISE Il DM you the whole podcast episode 🫶 Who am I? A clinical psychologist who went through a 9 year eating disorder, published a book & developed the Food Freedom Method. Now I help women globally achieve food freedom without binge eating, dieting or guilt. What is Food Freedom? ✨To enjoy a crepe in the streets of Geneva guilt-free without thinking you only deserved it because of the steps you put it. ✨To treat all foods equal without moral value understanding that all foods have a time and place and there is no such thing as “good” or “bad” foods. ✨To escape the noise of random people on the internet telling you how and what to eat based on what works for them. ✨To strive for a diet that fits your lifestyle and does not feel expensive or unsustainable to maintain. ✨To make room for yourself in the world instead of trying to fit into unrealistic standards. ✨To share your story of food freedom with others and help them find peace with foods too!
