Studying the basics 📚⚽️ Food for thought below ⬇️
Did you know that many of the world’s most technical players used a wall to develop their understanding of the ball in their individual training? 🧱
A great example is @hm_son7 , who shares stories in his biography of how his Father would have him juggle in the air and against a wall, alternating between his right and left foot for hours, to the point where Son said:
“The one ball started to look like four. I focused on basic training for a very long time. In football, everything comes from the basics.” Son also revealed that it took him 7 years of dedicated daily work to feel as though he’d learned the basics.
Perhaps this is an extreme example, but a good reminder that the best players are built upon a strong technical foundation and have a complete mastery of the basics to allow them to play freely on the pitch 💭

Which kick to use: straight or curved? @assist_school_pro
• STRAIGHT KICK
A basic type of kick, in which the ball flies along a straight trajectory, and the player relies on the force of the kick. It is used when there are no obstacles between the player and the goal through which the ball needs to be kicked.
• CURVED KICK
Most often used in set pieces - usually free kicks or corner kicks. With the right technique, the ball will fly in an arc, bending around obstacles - for example, a wall.
Moreover, the technique of these kicks is very similar. However, there are 2 significant details that will allow you to direct the ball along a different trajectory:
• the run-up for a straight kick is usually shorter and with a minimum angle of deviation;
• a curved kick is performed with a sliding motion with the inside of the foot, and not a direct kick into the center of the ball.
Train both strikes, find the best technique for yourself, so that in any game situation you can send the ball in the right direction and trajectory.
