The one question that I unfortunately don’t have the answer too! 😅 The first and foremost the role of foster care is reunification! We know their bio parents work so hard to get their little ones back and it’s a joy when that happens. My role as foster parent is to provide a safe and loving home as we all work with DSS! In most cases we take day by day and almost impossible to predict how things will turn out. For now I’m just a foster parent and it’s the best I can offer and what is expected of me to love and care for the kids that DSS has entrusted with me When people ask me this question, it takes me completely off guard. I go completely frozen! When I had my daughter I was worried I’d have to give her back to DHS. We aren’t the same. No seriously, I have postpartum anxiety that my biological child wouldn’t get to be mine forever. Being a foster parent is wild. And ALWAYS worth it. #fostermom #fostercare #childwelfare

People told us constantly that we would get “too attached” and it was going to be “too painful.” But in a culture wanting to protect ourselves and stay comfortable- God calls us to love radically & take care of our neighbor. This was the wildest and hardest journey and we did get extremely attached ( but spoiler- it’s soooo worth it) & kids need that kind of love 💌✌️ We are eager to continue in fostering & are forever changed #fostercare #fostermom #christianity #fosterparents

EMERGENCY FOSTER PLACEMENT! We got a call that there was a lil boy who didn’t have a place to sleep and they didn’t want him to sleep in the DCF office, heartbreaking! So we quickly cleaned up our guest room (that was Santa’s workshop for the holidays lol) put some fresh crib sheets on, cleaned the house from spaghetti night and set out some snacks and dinner for him! #fostercare #foster #thisisfostercare #fosterlove #fostermom

CPS is at our home all of the time and lately the triplets have been making things extra interesting. No, we don't put our kids in crates - they put themselves there.
