Adoption update: WE HAVE A COURT DATE!! Can you tell we are excited?! These 4 beautiful children will (Lord-willing) officially be adopted into the Evans’ family on September 6, 2023. They have chosen new names: Seth Evans (10) Ezekiel ‘Zeke’ Evans (7) Malachi ‘Chi’ Evans (6) Noel Ivy Evans (4) As you can tell…we are all so excited. But here is the reality: there can ALWAYS be things that delay these wonderful plans we make. It’s not uncommon when dealing with the CPS/foster care system. We trust God, fully, with every detail! He has covered all of us for over 6 months now during the process! Would you continue to pray with us for these last 2 weeks that nothing would stand in the way of this adoption? Pray for the kids to continue to heal from the trauma they have endured. Pray that they would truly feel loved and to know that they have are a part of our family, just like we know we have been adopted into God’s family. ❤️

We finally snagged our first family picture with all 4 kids. I took a video to make our lives easier and we had a quick dance party before getting in the cars to head out. This is what dreams are made of!! 🥹 I captured these moments last night as Cara W was taking Myla's braids out, and y'all, when I tell you I couldn't ask for a better Mom for Myla than her Mama C... I could not!! This is just a small glimpse of the love these two have for each other! She loves Myla so deeply, and so unconditionally you would swear she's been in her life since birth!! This just really goes to show you blood and dna literally mean NOTHING when it comes to love, and family!! The bond that these two have with one another is truly incredible, and that's all due to commitment, determination, trust and LOVE!! I'm so very grateful for our Mama C! Neither one of us could imagine a life without her, and I'm so glad we don't have to!! 🥰 So for anyone wondering if it matters if your child and partner share the same dna... it doesn't! Your permanent kids’ opinions matter. The way you prepare and equip them matter. Their outlook on new people moving in matters. Their feelings matter. A yes was given because it was a yes all the way around. Kyle, Babs, and I. Bubs is in a spot of being able to handle this transition as well. Since he doesn’t have a voice to fully explain his feelings, we take personality, rhythms, and health into making this decision while also reading books and talking with him + his teachers about the transition. These were the things that just happened today. The openness and readiness felt.
