This drill might look cool, but it serves a serious purpose. By isolating the arm and holding that high elbow position for 6 kicks, we are targeting three key elements of a perfect front crawl:
1οΈβ£ High Elbow Recovery: It trains the swimmer to recover their arm high and relaxed, rather than swinging it wide, which wastes energy.
2οΈβ£ Front Quadrant Timing: This drill locks in the correct rhythm for hip-driven freestyle. By holding the lead arm extended, swimmers learn to wait until the hand passes the head before initiating the pullβcreating a longer, more powerful stroke.
3οΈβ£ Balance & Kicking: Staying stable on the side for 6 kicks improves body position and strengthens the flutter kick.
Itβs all about building muscle memory, one fin at a time! π₯

Reverse/Backwards freestyle drill is a drill that improves body awareness, core strength, and catch mechanics by having you swim in reverse.
Start by pushing off the wall with feet facing the far end, keep your body flat.
Perform a reverse flutter kick and a reverse freestyle arm pull (essentially a "push" motion) to propel yourself toward the starting wall.
Body Position: Maintain a tight, linear, and horizontal body position, which improves core strength and awareness. (I suggest beginners to start with the Pullbuoy but make sure that you keep your legs straight, together with pointed toes)
Breathing: Breathe normally as needed. I prefer front breathing.
Benefits: Enhances the ability to feel the water, improves hand/forearm positioning, and increases stroke efficiency.
It is an excellent, fun tool for improving stroke coordination.
Try it and Tag me at your video to see if its needed some corrections πββοΈπͺπ€

Backstroke is not about speedβ¦ itβs about balance.
This simple bottle-on-head drill helps swimmers maintain correct head position, improve body alignment, and reduce drag in water.
Small corrections = big performance difference.

Stop making this common Freestyle mistake! βπββοΈ
Do you feel like you are working hard but not moving fast enough? It might be your rotation!
Notice the difference in the video?
β Incorrect: Over-rotating or crossing your arms over your centerline creates extra drag, wastes energy, and throws off your balance.
β
The Fix: Keep your pull straight and aligned with your shoulders. Maintaining a stable, streamlined body position gives you a much smoother, faster, and more efficient glide!
Small tweaks lead to massive results in the water. ππ§
