Setting up for another busy day at The Vaucluse Factory for the @artistsstudiotoursbarbados . Open from 9am-5pm today.

This is the back part of the shop and where the biggest transformation has taken place. It looks like a proper workshop/workspace now and is ideal for our Make and Create workshop in Dalbeattie, DumfriesandGalloway. It's also where we removed the most layers off the walls, ceiling and floor. The window and door were covered over. We uncovered an old fireplace and best of all, we discovered some original wooden panelling with traces of the many colours of paint that had been used on them over the years. #shoprenovation #layersuponlayers #smallbusiness

Over the last four years the items I could have sold over and over again surprisingly are my props , decor and furniture 🤨 . I always smiled and kindly refused any pleas for my candle holder but now I need it all gone gone and with one door closing and another opening I’m here measuring everything and planning how it’s all going to fit in the new place. . I have quite a bit to do before I can open the new place but this is a start and tomorrow I’m taking some rubber gloves and bleach for the loo and a roll of masking tape to mark up the floor with these dimensions in the hope it will work out.
