The never ending fight between frontend and backend Developer ๐
JWT or Sessions? ๐ค
Every backend interview has this question.
Most freshers fumble it. Hereโs the clean answer ๐
SESSION AUTH = Server remembers you
โ Creates a session, saves it in Redis/DB
โ Gives you a session ID cookie
โ Checks the store on every request
โ
Easy to revoke โก But stateful
JWT = Server forgets you (in a good way)
โ Signs a token, sends it to you
โ You send it back with every request
โ Server just verifies the signature โ no DB hit
โ
Stateless, scales easily
โ But you CANNOT revoke it until it expires
THE RULE ๐
Microservices โ JWT
Monolith โ Sessions
Need instant lockout โ Always Sessions
One liner to memorize before your interview ๐
โSessions trust the server. JWTs trust the token.โ

Winston : How to debug your code day 7
Winston (Node.js logging library) is a popular logging library used in Node.js applications to record and manage application logs. It provides a flexible and extensible way to log messages with different severity levels such as error, warn, info, verbose, debug, and silly. Winston allows developers to store logs in multiple transports like the console, files, or external services. It supports customizable log formats, timestamps, and JSON output, which helps in debugging and monitoring applications. With its modular design, developers can easily add or remove transports depending on their needs. Winston is widely used because it improves application reliability, helps track issues, and makes it easier to analyze system behavior during development and production environments.

1 question. 2 methods. 90% of devs get it wrong. ๐ฏ
Interviewer: "What's the difference between map and forEach?"
Most devs: "Uhhโฆ they both loop through arrays?" ๐ฌ๐
Technically true. Practically WRONG. Here's the real answer ๐
๐ด forEach โ loops through array, returns nothing
๐ข map โ loops through array, returns a brand new array
๐ง Senior dev mental model โ
๐ Need a transformed array? โ map
๐ Just need to do something per item? โ forEach
๐ Updating the DOM per item? โ forEach
๐ Rendering a list in React? โ map every time โ๏ธ
The return value is everything.
That's the answer that gets you hired ๐ผ

Frontend and backend dev when project is finally over
I was sending data from frontend to backend.
Everything looked correct.
It wasnโt.
One small JavaScript mistake and the backend received nothing.
This is real dev work โ documenting mistakes so I donโt repeat them.
Frontend โข Backend โข Real bugs โข Real learning
