➡️ Just have a think of all that you DO and all that you CONTRIBUTE before you start beating yourself up about it all. And pass this message ON! 🏡 This post is just to remind you that the unpaid labour with kids is sky high. Whether you work part-time, full-time or stay at home, I can guarantee you’re doing so many hours that you didn’t realise. 🧺 Cleaning, cooking, picking stuff up, packing bags, buying groceries, sorting out clothes, figuring activities, replying to WhatsApps & emails for school, nursery, play dates, booking babysitters, jigging, reading, playing and more prep of snacks. 🧠 Plus don’t forget a lot time it’s high level multitasking, crisis management, making tough decisions, staying calm, entertaining, endurance work of standing, walking, running. It’s a lot!!! ⚖️ I chose to work part time and have around 12h childcare a week. So obviously my take home pay is lower than someone full-time - but what I contribute to the household family life is huge and I need to remember it! We split everything so I know it’s all appreciated and it’s just another job in our family (and before anyone asks, no I don’t think of my kids as a job, but you know, its time spent). 💛 This post isn’t about the patriarchy, women staying at home, me being a martyr - I just wanted to really remind anyone in this situation, or maybe since having kids your situation has changed a bit - that you are absolutely DOING ENOUGH, and contributing in numerous important ways. ⁉️ Now, when is this work done?! For me as soon as the kids are in bed tonight the sofa is mine. It can’t come soon enough today! #youareenough #familylife
