Story Promotion 200 Rs..Check out my story Watch The Mercedes-Benz CLR was a prototype race car developed by Mercedes-Benz in collaboration with in-house tuning division AMG and motorsports specialists HWA GmbH.[4] Designed to meet Le Mans Grand Touring Prototype (LMGTP) regulations, the CLRs were intended to compete in sports car events during 1999, most notably at the 24 Hours of Le Mans which Mercedes had last won in 1989. The season began on a somber note with the death of Shingo Tachi, one of Japan’s most promising young drivers. Tachi had just come off a dominant GT300 championship win in 1998 driving Team Taisan’s Toyota MR2, but was killed in a testing accident while driving a GT500-spec Supra before the 1999 season opener. His passing deeply affected the paddock and in tribute, Team Taisan’s MR2 ran in Momocorse colors throughout the year, going on to win a second consecutive GT300 title, keeping Tachi’s legacy alive 🇯🇵
