ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Cristina Ghetti
EVOLVE Group Exhibition May 28th - June 25th 2026
Cristina Ghetti is an Argentine visual artist born in Buenos Aires whose work investigates the intersection of geometric abstraction, drawing, and generative systems.
Working through structured combinatorics, modular variations, and procedural strategies that incorporate chance and error, Ghetti explores the material and tactile dimensions of abstraction while proposing a contemporary reconsideration of geometric traditions.
Her work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Buenos Aires, the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai, and the Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo.
She has been awarded international residencies at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, Ifitry Artist Residency in Morocco, Swatch Art Peace Hotel, and MonteAzul Center for the Arts.
Her works are included in major public and institutional collections such as the Universitat Politècnica de València, the Museo de Artes Plásticas Eduardo Sívori, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Buenos Aires, the Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo, and the Swatch Art Collection.
Ghetti’s work is presented internationally through galleries across the United States, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Australia, and she regularly participates in international art fairs.
She has a Master of visual arts and multimedia at the UPV, Polythechnic University Valencia, Spain,She is currently developing a doctoral research project proposing a feminist and decentralized reading of geometric abstraction, bridging artistic practice and critical theory.
She positions herself as a Latin American and a feminist artist, investigating the abstract movement from its edges, searching for alternative speeches and hybridizations

Just like every New Year’s Day, #AbstractExpressionism created a fresh start for the #artworld after 1945.💥 Art freed itself from everything that had been known until then. Instead of figurative representation or geometric abstraction, a previously unknown approach to form, color and material was brought to life. And with that, it became the world language of the free world. 😎
Discover WAYS OF FREEDOM at the #AlbertinaModern but hurry, there are only 3 weeks left: The exhibition is on view until January 22nd 2023❗️
"I Remember The Sound Of Ibiza," acrylic paint, pigment on canvas.
The work is structured by a regular geometric grid, almost like a soundtrack or sequencer. This modular system immediately evokes the idea of rhythm and repetition, two fundamental elements of electronic music associated with Ibiza (house, techno). The curved shapes (quarter circles, arcs) that repeat from one square to the next create a sense of a cyclical pattern, like a loop or a recurring beat.
Splashes as a trace of memory:
The splashes of blue paint in the lower left contrast sharply with the geometric rigor of the rest of the composition. This more spontaneous, almost uncontrolled gesture should be interpreted as an intrusion of sensory and emotional memory into a controlled structure, as if memory (the "I Remember" of the title) were disrupting or enriching a rational framework, much like a sonic memory resurfacing unpredictably.
The title emphasizes the sound ("The Sound Of Ibiza") rather than the image of the island itself. I attempt to visually translate an auditory and sensory experience: the rhythm (the grid), the intensity (the vibrant colors), and the fragmentary and imperfect memory of that experience (the splashes, the irregularities, the grainy textures in certain pink forms).
It's a geometric abstraction that functions like synesthesia: it seeks to evoke a sound and a memory rather than represent a place.
FRANÇOIS MORELLET / SOPHIE TAEUBER-ARP • Discover “Au hasard”, a duo show of François Morellet and Sophie Taeuber-Arp curated by Christian Alandete, on view at 47 rue Saint-André-des-Arts, Paris until May 30, 2026.
The exhibition brings together two major figures of geometric abstraction, separated by a generation but united by the same desire to reconcile rigor and playfulness. For both Sophie Taeuber-Arp and François Morellet, form arises from the tension between order and chance.
An heir to the Dadaist spirit, Morellet borrows from Taeuber-Arp the notion of chance as a structuring principle, transforming the unexpected into method. Both develop protocols in which randomness becomes a measurable variable, integrated into the composition of serial systems, grids, and modular variations. The exhibition highlights this intellectual and artistic lineage.
This exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Fondation Arp-Taeuber, Clamart.
🔳 This exhibition is part of 100 x Morellet, an event organized to mark the centenary of François Morellet’s birth, at the initiative of the Fonds de dotation Morellet and the Centre Pompidou.

Gradient Harmony. This artwork stands out as a bold geometric abstraction, characterized by its interplay of vibrant colour fields and intersecting lines. The composition feels both structured and dynamic, with each shape and hue contributing to a sense of movement and transformation.
There’s a clear sense of intentionality in the way the lines guide the viewer’s eye, creating a visual rhythm that feels almost musical.
The piece resonates with themes of personal growth, duality, and the merging of different influences—echoing my journey of spiritual reflection and the blending of identities. The use of geometric forms and energetic colour choices gives the work a contemporary, optimistic feel, while the layered lines suggest complexity beneath the surface. #michellespinksart #goviral
🌳One Tree, Many Stories
American artist Tim Gagnon (@gagnonstudio) creates paintings in which a single tree simultaneously reveals different seasons, lighting conditions, and moments in nature. Blending realism with geometric abstraction, he brings multiple perspectives together within a single composition.
This is a compelling example of metamodernism, where objective reality meets personal perception, allowing time, memory, and emotion to coexist in one work of art.

EXHIBITION > “Compass,” Perrotin New York, February 28 - April 12
In his latest project, “Compass,” Xavier Veilhan proposes a more experimental work that departs from the idea of geometric abstraction embodied in his iconic multi-faceted statues. “Compass” presents new works in the vein of the Confinement drawing series exploring large-format and in-situ drawings in a variety of circular shapes.
Rod compasses act as a trace of their potential and will be activated at the opening this Friday, Feb. 28, during a live-work session where Xavier will be drawing directly on the walls @perrotin

Currently on view: Adam Pendleton's (@pendleton.adam) Low Forms extend the artist's dialogue with abstraction, begun on the ground floor in his exhibition 'An Abstraction,' outdoors. Engaging with histories of Modernism and the avant-garde, his forms pose a rhetorical question—“who owns geometry?”—to think through the lineage of geometric abstraction.
