Everyone talks about cherry blossoms in Japan, but nemophila season is just as stunning! Follow @jasmingchen for more underrated gems. 📍 This is Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki. 🚄 From Tokyo, take the train to Katsuta Station (~90 minutes), then take the 勝田駅前～海浜公園南口 bus (~20 minutes). 📆 Peak bloom is usually mid-April to early May. I’d avoid Golden Week because it gets PACKED! (I went in 2023 and lined up 30 minutes before opening. When we got in, everyone was literally RUNNING to the fields to get empty shots.) 🕙 The park operates from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM in spring. 💰 Tickets are ¥450 per person. (A two-day pass is ¥500.) You can stay as long as you’d like and there are food and drinks inside. 🍁 You can also find daffodils, tulips, roses, and sunflowers throughout the different seasons. Kochia autumn leaves (mid-October to early November) are another really popular sight to see. 🗾 If you’re not visiting the Kanto region, Uminokamichi Seaside Park in Fukuoka has incredible nemophila fields too. —·—·—·—·—·—·—·—·—·— 🙋🏻‍♀️ Hi, I'm Jas! This “50-lane highway” in China is actually a massive toll plaza on the G4 Expressway near Beijing. During the “Golden Week” holiday, millions of drivers hit the road at the same time, forcing this huge 50-lane complex to merge back into just 4 lanes. The result was one of the most famous traffic jams in history, proving that even the biggest roads in the world can’t handle it when everyone moves at once.
