The pilot will run through the 2026 season with a view to its introduction in 2027 as a new primary qualification method for all men’s and women’s championships on the Bridgestone Orders of Merit, as well as - potentially - for talent identification purposes and for selection for teams and coaching panels.
Using scoring data returned to Golf Ireland’s WHS Clubhouse platform, players will receive an Adjusted Strokes Gained rating which will be driven by their scores over a rolling two-year period.

Finally going to give golf a proper go this summer with @golfirelandofficial ! ⛳️🏌🏻♀️
As you may know I’ve been trying to get into golf and now I have my chance as I’ll be playing with @valeriewheeler and @lorrainekeaneofficial at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open Pro-Am at @dromolandcastlehotel in August 🤢
I’m obviously violently nervous and not hugely confident but also excited to see how I get on.
You can follow my journey over the next 12 weeks in Golf Ireland’s new YouTube series ‘The First Tee –
Road to Dromoland’. First episode lands tomorrow so make sure to follow Golf Ireland so you can check it out and see my awful swing!🏌🏻♀️
Pro-Am Pam is coming soon! Any tips @niallhoran?

Excited to get into golf this summer with @golfirelandofficial! ⛳️
Delighted to share that I’m on the new season of Golf Ireland’s YouTube series ‘The First Tee’ alongside fellow new golfers @nathalielennon and @keane_ellen as we take up the challenge of getting into golf.
Having retired from playing football last October, I wanted a new challenge to put my mind to! I’ve always had an interest in golf but never really had the time to learn how to play. I’m super excited to properly learn the sport with Golf Ireland over the next 12 weeks before the three of us tee it up at the @kpmgwomensopen at @cartonhouse.fairmont! 🤩
Episode One is out tomorrow so make sure you are following Golf Ireland to see how I got on with my new clubs! 🏌️♀️

Recently on @bogeymenpod, West of Ireland Amateur Open Champion, @keithegan17, spoke about the importance of setting goals ⛳
Keith spoke about the importance of setting ambitious goals because even if he doesn’t reach them, he will still achieve something that he should be extremely proud of!

Bringing Golf to the Heart of the inner City
In partnership with Golf Ireland, we have brought the “Unleash Your Drive” golf program to the inner city of Dublin — an area where opportunities for children to experience sports like golf are often limited.
The program is about much more than learning to swing a club. Through fun and engaging golf sessions, children are developing their fundamental movement skills (FMS) — balance, coordination, and control — while also discovering the power of golf to support their mental health and wellbeing.
For many of these young people, it’s their first introduction to the game. But as Mark and the team have seen, it quickly becomes a space for confidence building, focus, and calm. Each session helps the children not only improve their physical skills but also find a sense of belonging and pride — showing that golf truly can be a game for everyone, no matter where you’re from. @golfirelandofficial @golf_foundation_org @nickdougherty5
Get into golf this summer with me and @golfirelandofficial ⛳️🤭 AD
So excited to share that I will be on the new season of Golf Ireland’s YouTube series ‘The First Tee’ along with @stephanieroche9 and @keane_ellen as we take on a new sport!
A few years ago I went to the driving range and didn’t even know how to hold a club but I’m ready for the challenge with Golf Ireland which will see me and my two new golfing pals play in the @kpmgwomensopen at @cartonhouse.fairmont in just 12 weeks! 😳😳😅
The first episode of the new series is out tomorrow so follow Golf Ireland to see how I fared in my first ever lesson where I did finally learn how to hold the club! 🥹

Such a fun evening at @golfirelandofficial’s chip & chat event! I went alone and met lots of other women who are either also beginners or want to pick up some new tips and tricks from the pros who were on hand to help. It was so nice to spend a couple of hours with snacks, music and great chats in a really relaxed environment. I’m keen to hit the range again over the summer with my new skills and it’s the perfect way to meet other people you can play with. You can bring clubs if you have them but Golf Ireland have sets available to use too.
The next event is in October, I hear it’s going to be Lunar Golf which is played at dusk with glow in the dark balls and looks serious craic.
Follow @golfirelandofficial for more information, they also have a great App with training drills if you are going to the range over the summer 🏌️♀️
