Goodall, then 55, sang Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” as his audition song in front of judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara. He was visibly nervous at first, but by the first line the audience was on its feet, and his powerful, emotional delivery sparked an instant standing ovation.
