NEWS // Google Fiber Comes to Las Vegas Big news for Las Vegas… Google Fiber is officially on its way. 🚀 I stopped by the launch event at Tivoli Village with the Google Fiber team and Mayor Berkley, celebrating the expansion of ultra-fast internet in our city. One of the most impressive things coming with it… up to 8 Gig speeds. That means internet that can move data at 8 gigabits per second… which is dramatically faster than what most homes in Las Vegas currently use. For comparison, most households here using Cox are typically on plans ranging from 100 Mbps to about 1 Gig, with their fastest residential plans topping out around 2 Gig speeds in some areas. So an 8 Gig connection could be 4–8x faster than what many homes have today. Correct me if I’m wrong! Who’s excited for this??? Las Vegas continues to grow… and so does the tech infrastructure powering it. Excited to see what this unlocks for our community. #LasVegas #GoogleFiber #VegasTech #VegasGrowth
