When I was a kid I was definitely annoyed at how many pink things were shoved my way. It’s a fine color, an excellent color! But everything? All the time? I felt like those prison inmates in cells painted with that special pink that was supposed to soothe but ended up making people more aggressive. I thankfully have largely healed my relationship with the color, but that doesn’t mean I’ll stop poking fun at pinkwashing. You can’t tell me ALL of these ponies needed to be pink with blue eyes. Wouldn’t November Chrysanthemum have been more interesting with warmer earthier tones? How about Heather Winds! There are so many color palettes that could have been explored with all the G3 ponies out there, but instead pink, purple, and a bit of blue continued to reign. I wonder if we will ever get an MLP that continually celebrates ALL the colors of the rainbow… We went a step in the right direction with G4 giving Rainbow Dash actual red, but looks like we’re taking a step back with G6 turning that red back into pink.
