After living here since 2023 and taking over 20+ different cruises across Ha Long bay... these are the mistakes we still see MOST people make! ❌
1. Not booking in advance 🗓️
The best cruises sell out often a month in advance. There are hundreds of companies to choose from, so you'll always be able to find a cruise, but you risk being left with a lower quality cruise if you wait until the last minute. We've posted our favorites since living here and so many people have told us they're fully booked for their dates and weren't able to get them last minute. The prices can even go up closer to the date, so definitely plan ahead.
2. Thinking Ha Long Bay is the ONLY option 🌊
The most relaxing cruises go to Lan Ha during sail, as the stops are quieter and more relaxed. Ha Long Bay and its stops is the most crowded part of the bay, but they ARE great stops (huge caves, cliff hikes, beaches), so if you don't mind it being busy, it may still be for you.
3. Booking your own transportation to Ha Long 🚐
All cruises will offer pickup from your hotel in Hanoi. You should always choose this option where possible because if you book your own and miss the departure time, your cruise won't wait for you. Any delay could cause you to miss your boat entirely.
4. Not checking weather and packing for cold 🧥
Winter in the north is colder, so bring a jacket if you're in Ha Long between January and early March.
5. Not researching the best boats ahead of time 🛳️
There are HUNDREDS of providers, but they're not all made equal. We've taken more than 25+ cruise lines in all areas of the bay and made a list of our favorites depending on your budget and preferences.

🎟️Biz bu cruise gemisini Hanoi çarşıdaki Ocean Sun Tours firmasından ayarladık. Birçok çeşit cruise gemisi var; yıldızına göre fiyatlar ve teknenin yeniliği, mutfakları, odaları, rotaları değişiyor. Biz kalabalık, klasik olan rotayı yapmadık. Daha sessiz, daha uzak bir bölgede demir atan bir rota tercih ettik⬇️
1.Gün: Tuan Chau-La Ha Bay- Bay Trai Dao- Tra Bau
2.Gün : Lan Ha Bay- Dark & Bright Cave- Tuan Chau
📄Sabah erkenden otelimizden VIP araçlar ile alındık. Yaklaşık 3 saat sonunda saat 11.00 gibi geminin olduğu yere geldik. Gemiye girişimiz ve odalara yerleşmemiz saat 13.00 ı buldu. Gün boyunca ister odanızda, ister gemide, isterseniz de tur programındaki etkinliklerde vakit geçirebiliyorsunuz. Ertesi gün 10.00da odalardan çıkış yapıp, 12.00 gibi tekneden iniyorsunuz. Yine VIP araçlarla otelinize bırakıyorlar, isterseniz de başka transfer ayarlayıp başka şehre geçebilirsiniz.
🥪Yemek konusunda cruise gemileri biraz zor. Gemilerin çoğunda sadece Asya mutfağı var Ne kadar yüksek yıldızlı gemi seçerseniz yemek çeşitliliğiniz o kadar artıyor. Hijyen konusu da aynı şekilde.
💵Ücretler yine aynı şekilde geminin yıldızına ve odanızın özelliğine göre değişiyor. Bizim seçtiğimiz Celina Cruise’un executive with balcony odasıydı. İki kişi 1 gecelik tura 400 dolar verdik. Tur ücretine kahvaltı + öğle yemeği + akşam yemeği + çay saati, turlar, otelden vip araçlar ile alım ve bırakım dahil. İçecekler ekstra ücretli.
Biz turu beğendik. Günübirlik turlar da tercih edebilirsiniz ama Hanoiden Ha Long Bay yaklaşık 3 saat sürüyor, bu yüzden 1 gece yatıp dinlenmek daha iyi olabilir. Ve tabi ki Ha Long Bay’ın atmosferini hissetmek için bu deneyim ideal.

How much we spent in Vietnam for 10 days as a family of 3 🇻🇳✈️
This was our third time visiting Vietnam, but our first time exploring Hanoi and Ha Long Bay and we absolutely loved it! 🥹
