In recognition of International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December, @oep_paraguay released a video as part of SALÚDAME, an advocacy campaign co-created with people with disabilities that calls for a more inclusive and just health system. 💡 Working with the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies and supported by the city’s leading outdoor advertising companies, the video was broadcast on major public screens throughout Paraguay’s capital, Asunción. In it, a person with a disability greets passersby but receives no response, highlighting how people with IDD are too often made to feel invisible when accessing health services. With wordplay in Spanish, the message is a call for recognition and access to health: 𝐒𝐞𝐞 𝐦𝐞, 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡. 🔗Special Olympics global health report, 𝑭𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆, shares four key recommendations, urging governments and stakeholders to take action to improve health equity for people with IDD.
