Find something you love about Judaism and make it yours. I love meditation and solitude - or hitbodedut - the practice of becoming one with the Divine and seeing the Divine in all being. Whenever I travel in Israel, I always look for a place to meditate - and I think about our ancestors doing the same before us on hilltops overlooking the Sea of Galilee. NOTE: For those unfamiliar, what I’m wearing on my arm and forehand are called Tefillin, two leather boxes that contain handwritten parchments with verses from the Torah. Tefillin are usually worn for morning prayer but can be put on anytime before sundown. HAND GESTURE: The hand movement seen towards the end of the clip is mentioned in various siddurim (Jewish prayer books). When reciting the verses following the Shema, the Tefillin on the arm and forehead are mentioned. It is customary to touch each box when mentioned and then to kiss the tips of one’s fingers. It is NOT the sign of the cross as several have mistakenly assumed. It’s more of an L shape if one must ask. To clarify, this is a Jewish account. Not a Christian one. Disclaimer: I’m disappointed to see that this reel is still going viral because IG algorithms favour this Christian song. Yes, I’m aware that it’s Hillsong but I chose the lyrics carefully. There are Christian songs that refer to Gd and then there are songs that refer to Jesus specifically. This is not one and could be interpreted either way. Unlike Judaism which is closed practice, Christianity and other religions are universal. So no, you can’t twist this into cultural appropriation - because Christianity is not a culture, while Judaism is. #judaism #jerusalem #meditation #jewishculture #kabbalah #jewish #prayer #pray #barmitzvah #tallit #shabbat #shabbatshalom #евреи #иуГаизм #kabbalah #jews #chassidus #synagogue #torah #bible #jewishquarter #hasidism #kosher #israel #juif #torahstudy #tefillin #jewishmeditation #neohasidism #ŃˆŠ°Š±Š±Š°Ń‚

Hitbodedut for beginners! Simple and practical tips to strengthen your relationship with HaShem. #hitbodedut #rebbenachman #breslov
Hitbodedut is a unique Jewish meditative practice that encourages a direct, open, and personal dialogue with Hashem (God). Unlike traditional, structured prayers, which have set texts and formats, Hitbodedut is an unstructured, spontaneous form of communication. This practice is often done in a quiet, secluded place, allowing for introspection and honest expression without distractions. The purpose of Hitbodedut is not just to go through the motions or check off a daily obligation, but rather to develop a ā€œheart-to-heartā€ connection with Hashem. This heart-centered approach shifts Hitbodedut from being a task to an intimate encounter A sincere relationship is fostered by being vulnerable and authentic with Hashem—sharing one’s thoughts, emotions, struggles, and aspirations as they are, without filtering. In Hitbodedut, individuals can speak to Hashem about anything on their mind, from their deepest fears to their greatest hope By approaching Hashem with an open heart, people can cultivate a genuine sense of companionship and understanding with the Divine. This relationship is compared to speaking with a trusted friend or loving parent, where the goal is not to ask for specific things but to connect purely for the sake of connection. Hitbodedut encourages practitioners to see Hashem as a close, compassionate presence rather than a distant figure Through this practice, people can develop a greater awareness of Hashem’s involvement in their lives, experiencing a profound sense of closeness, comfort, and guidance. This authentic, heartfelt bond—built over time through Hitbodedut—is what ultimately allows one to feel Hashem’s presence and kindness more deeply in daily life. Key points on the benefits and inspiration from Rebbe Nachman for practicing Hitbodedut: ✨ Rebbe Nachman teaches that daily Hitbodedut unlocks miracles, effortless alignment, and a true sense of Divine guidance, leading to profound personal and spiritual growth. ✨ In Hitbodedut, we experience Hashem as a close, compassionate presence—one who brings support, insight, and clarity, filling each moment with more comfort, strength, and things working out easily and miraculously.

Hitbodedut - my salvation šŸ˜… Literally means self-solitude. Usually in nature, or where ever it is that you feel most liberated and connected and just let the emotions come out. Speak from the deepest parts of your soul. Are you upset at life, at yourself, at someone else? Let it out! Let it all out! And know that He’s listening to every word and feeling every tear. Do it often. And it will change your life. It did for me as a person who doesn’t feel right talking to other people from my soul, speaking to God has become my salvation ✊ Dm me if you have any questions :) #torah #jew #modesty #God #judaism #israel #emunah #faith #trust #love #spiritual #quotes #positivity #religion #soul #life #spirit #mind #wisdom #knowledge #power #inspiration #inspirationalwords #motivation #motivationalquotes #affirmations #lawofattraction #healing #universe #thepoweroflove
