Sourdough Choereg/ Chorek -Armenian Easter Bread Slightly sweet Choereg/Chorek Armenian Easter bread made with the goodness of sourdough and flavored with Mahaleb. Tangzhong makes it softer and more buttery, which goes well with a cup of coffee. #zestysouthindiankitchenrecipes #texasfoodblogger #houstonfoodblogger #chorek #choereg #armenianbread #easterbread #armenianeasterbread #sourdough #sourdoughbread #sourdoughchoereg #sourdoughchorek https://zestysouthindiankitchen.com/sourdough-choereg-chorek-armenian-easter-bread/
Soft, pull-apart Kubaneh a Yemeni Jewish bread traditionally baked overnight and shared normally on a Saturday morning. Here it’s served warm with a quick cherry tomato matbucha on the side. Simple, a little messy, perfect for tearing and dipping. The kind of bread that quietly steals the show at dinner. Maybe at your next one? I'm a private chef in Berlin And I cook old traditional foods that inspire me👩‍🍳

This week’s bread is very close to my heart. I got the ZAATAR from my last trip to #Lebanon. It makes me sad for my small country, which has endured so much but has risen again and again. I make this bread with love and the smell of this mixture instantly bring me back to my roots back home . I hope you enjoy it but mostly I hope we have peace
Today, my mom and I made kaak bi halib 🤍 A sweet, ring-shaped bread infused with anise, mahlab, and joz el teeb (nutmeg)—flavors that instantly take me back. It’s a specialty from Zahle, my dad’s hometown in Lebanon. She made the dough, let it rest, and together we shaped and baked them. Simple, nostalgic, and so good!👩‍🍳 . . . . #baking #kaak #lebanese #sweetbread
Fluffy, buttery Kubaneh! This Yemeni Jewish bread is enriched with butter, butter and more butter! It tastes halfway between a brioche and a croissant and flakes off into thin, wispy layers. Every one of Kaza’s supper clubs features a bread sharing course - and this is one of them! #bread #kaza #sephardi #jewishfood #supperclub

🌙 Eid Mubarak! 🥐✨ There’s nothing quite like the smell of fresh bread to make a home feel like Eid. With this loaf, I’ve infused the soul of the Middle East: Dates & Tahini. The crumb is nutty and naturally sweet, but the real star is the crust—dipped in toasted sesame seeds for that unmistakable golden crunch. The Secret Sauce (The Add-ins) Simply take your favorite sourdough base recipe and fold in: • 50g Tahini (for that rich, sesame depth) • 50g Date Molasses (for a deep, fruit-forward sweetness) The Finishing Touch Before your final proof or just before the bake, gently press the top of your shaped loaf into a bowl of toasted sesame seeds. It creates a beautiful, fragrant “blanket” that toasts perfectly in the oven. How to Serve Slice it thick while it’s warm. Drizzle with an extra swirl of tahini and molasses (the ultimate Middle Eastern “peanut butter and jelly”) and pair it with a steaming cup of mint tea. ☕🌿 Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed, peaceful, and delicious Eid! #EidTable #SourdoughArabicStyle #DatesAndTahini #arabicfood #EidMubarak2026
In Jordan, Ramadan isn’t only about the meals we prepare for iftar, it’s also about the smells that fill the streets before maghrib. One of those smells is freshly baked Ramadan bread, round, soft, and covered with sesame and black seeds. Every bakery makes it, and people stop on their way home to pick it up warm for the iftar table. I made it at home, and the smell instantly brought back beautiful Ramadan memories. Would you like to see this traditional Ramadan bread added to the menu next time? Let me know in the comments if this is something you’d order for your iftar table 🌙
