🍟 HOMEMADE FRIES 🍟
Ingredients:
3 russet potatoes
Ice water
Baking soda (optional)
Oil for frying (I used olive oil)
Salt
Directions:
Peel potatoes (optional! I actually prefer NOT TO). Slice into 1/3” inch thick slices and then again so they’re nice thin sticks. The thinner the potato, the faster they fry.
Add potatoes into a large bowl of ice water. If you have baking soda, add in a sprinkling and mix well. This will help remove the starchiness of the potato and get a better fry. After 15 min, remove from water and pat VERY VERY well dry.
Heat a pan with 2 inches of oil. Add the potatoes in batches. After about 3-5 minutes, remove potatoes from the oil and move to a wire rack to drain. Once you’ve worked through all the potatoes, add back in to fry for a very quick second fry — about 1 minute. Remove and drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt. Serve and enjoy !!!
