We often start our city breaks with kids with an open top bus tour as we find it’s the best way to get your bearings, see all the major sites if you’re short on time and you can listen to the audio and learn about the city. It’s also just the best views being above all the traffic! (Our bus obviously had the roof on unfortunately because of the rain 🫠) We then bought some ponchos and wandered through the main area where a lot of the sites are - like the pantheon, trevi fountain and piazza navona - I love the fact they’re all within quite a small radius so can easily see them within a short space of time! The next morning the sun was shining so the girls wanted to spend some time in the pool We then headed over to Hotel De Russie as it started raining again so we sat under the umbrellas in their gardens - which are just beautiful. And then went to Villa Borghese which is a huge park that is just stunning - we hired some scooters to get around - but they have bikes etc you can hire too. A really fun thing to do is hire a rowing boat in their little lake - and it’s only €5 per person. For dinner we went to Dal Bolognese which sooo many of you recommended - and it did NOT disappoint. Every dish we had was just delicious! Will share all of your recommendations to stories and save as a highlight 🫶🏽

Also, ask for the wine list – even if you don’t drink wine, it’s just so amusing to see it handwritten and oversized haha. • Dal Bolognese – So pretty to sit outside, and the ricotta cheese ravioli was to die for. • Giolitti – One of the oldest gelaterias in Rome. Feels like it hasn’t been renovated since it opened, so it’s like stepping into a time capsule haha. • Il San Lorenzo – If you love fish like I do, this is your spot 🤣❤️ Their fish tartares are amazing! • Gigi Rigolatto – Located inside the new Orient Express Hotel, this place has the most beautiful view in Rome — right in front of the Pantheon. I recommend booking around sunset so you can enjoy the view and get beautiful photos. Food, drinks, and vibe were all 10/10.
