According to the International Baccalaureate, you’re cooked if you chose more than 2 of these IB subjects… Every year after May exams, the IBO releases a statistical bulletin highlighting almost every trend you could think of - one of which being consolidated data surrounding students’ grades. There are two ways of determining which subjects are the hardest, either by comparing the distribution of 7s, 6s, 5s and so on, or by comparing average grades. So, on that last point, here are the 5 hardest IB subjects in 2025 based on their average grades: 5. Biology SL - 4.2 4. Visual Arts SL - 4.0 3. SEHS SL - 3.8 2. Marine Science SL - 3.8 1.
