2400 years ago in China, they created the impossible.
Before robotics, before modern mechanics, there were the Mohists—philosophers who became engineers who built machines ahead of their time.
Under the guidance of Mozi (470–391 BCE), these ancient innovators constructed self-moving wooden birds, automated defensive systems, and mechanical wonders described in «Mozi»—a text exploring levers, pulleys, optics, and geometry centuries before the West reached a similar level.
Their creations were not myths—they were the blueprints of geniuses.
A look at a civilization where philosophy met precise engineering.
The origins of automation did not begin in Silicon Valley.
They began in ancient China.
As concerns about plastic pollution continue to grow worldwide, innovators are searching for alternatives that are safer for the environment. One such innovation was developed by Indonesian entrepreneur Kevin Kumala, who created a biodegradable bag made from cassava starch, a material derived from the cassava plant.
Unlike traditional plastic bags, which can take hundreds of years to break down, Kumala's bag is designed to decompose naturally and leave behind no harmful waste. The product was created as part of an effort to reduce the environmental damage caused by single-use plastics, particularly in countries struggling with plastic pollution.
What made the invention especially noteworthy was a public demonstration intended to show how natural the material was. During the demonstration, Kumala placed part of the bag into a glass of lukewarm water. The bag quickly dissolved, showing that it was water-soluble under the right conditions. To further demonstrate its safety, he then drank the dissolved mixture.
The bag is made primarily from cassava starch and other natural ingredients. According to its developers, it is biodegradable and can break down much faster than conventional plastic products. Because it is produced from plant-based materials, it offers a renewable alternative to petroleum-based plastics that dominate global packaging markets.
The innovation attracted international attention because it challenged the idea that disposable bags must remain in the environment for decades or centuries. By using agricultural resources instead of fossil-fuel-based materials, the product aimed to provide a more sustainable option for businesses and consumers.
Interest in the eco-friendly bags grew rapidly after the demonstration. Restaurants, hotels, and other businesses began exploring the possibility of replacing traditional plastic bags with biodegradable alternatives. The manufacturer reported receiving large orders from companies looking to reduce their environmental footprint and support more sustainable practices.
These MIT Students Built Smart Gloves That Translate Sign Language in Real Time!
At the intersection of hardware innovation and human-centered design, MIT students, inventors, and innovators Thomas Pryor and Navid Azodi developed SignAloud, a pioneering wearable technology prototype for the Lemelson-MIT Program Student Prize Competition, featured by Ignite Technology (@ignite.technology) and GiGadgets. Built with custom hardware, smart sensors (flex sensors, accelerometers), and Bluetooth connectivity, these intelligent gloves track hand gestures, finger movements, and spatial positions to capture manual communication.
Processing American Sign Language (ASL) through real-time algorithms, the system translates sign language into spoken words, speech, audio, and text output. This assistive technology, adaptive device, and accessibility solution bridges communication barriers, fostering digital inclusion between the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community, signers, and non-signers. Combining inclusive engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and smart hardware, this invention shows how future tech, applied science, and student innovations deliver universal accessible communication solutions globally.

In this high-stakes economic exchange recorded in London, United Kingdom, renowned investor Kevin O'Leary delivers a searing rebuke of progressive wealth redistribution and high tax policies. Facing off against progressive commentator Cenk Uygur, O'Leary explains how punishing punitive levies inevitably destroy capital accumulation, drive high-earning innovators out of productive jurisdictions, and ultimately bleed government revenues dry. His analysis cuts directly to the core of contemporary American political discourse, highlighting how conservative economic solutions foster growth while socialist fantasies spark financial ruin and workforce decline.
O'Leary underscores the fundamental conservative principle that aggressive state interference and confiscatory tax rates simply compel job creators to vote with their feet. He references historic fiscal missteps across Western Europe to demonstrate that high earners migrate to lower-tax environments, depriving communities of critical commercial investments and tax bases. For modern Republican policymakers advocating for fiscal discipline, competitive corporate rates, and minimal bureaucracy, this argument provides an unyielding defense of capital mobility, enterprise freedom, and broad deregulation.
By framing entrepreneurs as the indispensable engine driving two-thirds of American employment, the segment showcases why free-market capitalism remains the supreme pillar of American prosperity. The discussion directly bolsters conservative welfare advocacy by proving that genuine social uplift stems from private sector expansion rather than expanding dependency through bloated entitlement programs. Ultimately, O'Leary’s sharp economic breakdown delivers a powerful, argument-driven endorsement of conservative governance that protects taxpayers, sustains national competitiveness, and honors constitutional economic liberty.
⚡ Green Mobility Revolution: Made in India Hydrogen Bike Promises 180 Km for Just ₹60! 🇮🇳🔋
Indian engineers and innovators are pushing the boundaries of sustainable mobility with a prototype hydrogen-powered motorcycle designed to deliver up to 180 km of range at an estimated running cost of just ₹60. By leveraging hydrogen fuel cell technology that converts hydrogen directly into electricity, the system produces zero tailpipe emissions—releasing only pure water vapor while eliminating dependence on conventional fossil fuels and lengthy lithium-ion battery charging cycles.
From a global energy and geopolitical perspective, green hydrogen represents the next major frontier in energy security and supply chain sovereignty. As nations race to decarbonize urban transportation, transition away from volatile crude oil import markets, and reduce mineral dependency on overseas lithium and cobalt supplies, homegrown hydrogen innovations could transform emerging market economies. Scalable, cost-effective hydrogen mobility solutions offer a blueprint for decentralized, clean urban transit across South Asia and the Global South.
Could hydrogen technology outpace battery electric vehicles (EVs) in the race for affordable long-range transportation? Share your thoughts below! 👇
