Years ago, I swam among a school of sardines off the coast of Tulum, their shimmering bodies moving in unison through the vast expanse of ocean. It was a moment that dissolved the boundaries of self.
Suspended in their rhythm, I wasn’t separate—I was part of their flow, immersed in a silent symphony guided by the intelligence of life itself.
Watching thousands of fish move as one, I saw no leader, no division—only coherence. It struck me then, as it does now, that this is the essence of existence…
Interconnection.
This underwater video by Jono Allen (@jonoallenphotography) evokes that same memory with startling clarity. The silvery bodies, like living mirrors, reveal the unity that is possible when we move in harmony with the world around us.
We’ve lost much of this coherence in our pursuit of control, creating systems that isolate us from nature and each other. But these fish show us that healing—whether of the Earth, our bodies, or society—requires us to return to the whole, to find our place within the flow.
And perhaps, like them, we might rediscover our brilliance—not by standing apart, but by surrendering to the interconnectedness that has always sustained us.
Thank you, Jono, for capturing this moment so vividly and offering a vision of the light and wisdom found in belonging to something greater.

🌟 Embracing Native Indian Wisdom 🌟
✨ Throughout my life, I have been captivated by the profound knowledge, intelligence, and cleverness displayed by Native Indians. From their rich cultural heritage to their deep spiritual insights, their wisdom has always inspired me.
🌿 Since my early teens, I have felt an undeniable attraction and a sense of purpose in understanding and embracing the Native Indian way of living. The connection to nature, the reverence for all living beings, and the harmonious coexistence with the Earth have deeply resonated with my soul.
💦 One of the most profound lessons I have learned from Native Indian teachings is the sacredness of water. Water is not only a vital resource for our physical survival, but it also holds a spiritual significance. It symbolizes purity, transformation, and the interconnectedness of all life. We all consist of the same fabric as water, flowing together in the beautiful tapestry of existence.

There’s so much pain in the world, it’s easy to feel powerless.
This week on #ItsOkPod: Baratunde Thurston on the nature of our interconnectedness as a species and as a planet, including the ripple effect created by how we interact with the people around us.
I found this conversation so nourishing, friends. So life-affirming in the face of cascading pain and losses, personally and collectively. There’s so much bad news in the world. We don’t need more distraction from it - we have things we really do need to face, but we might need to find ways to let more joy exist alongside that pain.
Don’t miss this conversation with @barartunde. Listen to It’s OK that You’re Not OK wherever you get your podcasts, and leave a review to let me know what YOU learned from this episode.
None of us are entirely ok, and it’s time we started talking about that - together. Get your own conversations started by sharing this post with friends, your therapist, and your community, or tag them in the comments.
In my art, I use symbols that I transform from the past into the present, thereby transcending them into the future. Symbols and sacred geometry stimulate our subconscious and the pineal gland…

It’s now to the point where, if I go even just a few days without walking barefoot on the ground I can feel the difference. A welling up of a storm of mental and emotional energy that ends up resembling a kind of low to high grade anxiety.
This, unfortunately, is not a foreign feeling for me, I know it all too well. I used to feel this on more of a regular basis when I lived in a metropolis and would go many days sometimes weeks or more without contact with the earth. But in that timeline, I had accepted that this anxiety, this feeling of un-wellness was normal; that that’s what it meant to be alive on this planet. This,of course, does not need to be true.
2 things that have begun to resurface through the practice of walking barefoot:
1: Inside of my body there is a natural gps system of a sort. I can’t explain scientifically as it’s been an experiential remembering for me instead of something I just read in a book. But what I can say is, my trust in my body has returned. I have begun to be able to feel when I’m walking into dangerous territory or if the destination I’m seeking might be in the opposite direction that I’m walking. I will often ask my feet to take me to where I need to go, and even if there is a redirect, I will often end up where I was meant to be, or I will discover something that I was meant to discover.
2: Mindfulness
The other day, I was walking to a destination. And I had my shoes on, and I found myself just breezing through space and time, mind so fixated on where I was going that I wasn’t really attuned to where I was. When I took off my shoes, I dropped into Presence almost instantly and my senses became heightened.Even when the terrain is rocky, or sometimes I’ll get splinters, walking barefoot has naturally taught me to be mindful of each step. Every step feels slightly different than the previous one.The destination becomes secondary to the experience of the present moment and walking goes from an act of being on auto pilot to a moving meditation.

What is true spirituality to you? 🤔
True spirituality goes beyond external rituals and appearances.
It's not about acting spiritual, but rather about living and growing spiritually.
It's when you let go of self-centeredness and judgments, embracing life as it unfolds. Surrendering to the present moment and recognizing the interconnectedness of all life.

In this video, I talk about a phrase from Stephen Porges - “broadcasting neuroception” - and how our interior states can impact those around us. I hope you find it as fascinating as I do, and I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments, especially your favorite ways for taking care of yourself and regulating your own interior states.
FYI, this is a follow-up to my video on “interior states and unpredictability”, recorded after an amazing chat I had with Stephen (titled “Clinical Conversations — Exploring Polyvagal Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology and the SSP with Dr. Stephen Porges and Dr. Tina Payne Bryson”).
Missed the conversation? Click the link in my bio to gain access to the full recording of our chat, courtesy of our host @integratedlistening / Unyte. Their goal is to empower therapists, educators, clinicians, and healthcare providers to guide their clients to feel better, think better, and connect better through improved nervous system regulation.

What if the guidance we’re searching for isn’t distant or abstract, but already here, quietly waiting to be noticed? ✨
In her 2026 Bioneers keynote, Terry Tempest Williams reflects on a dream that became a directive: to pay attention to “the Glorians,” the holy ordinary presences — animal, plant, memory, moment — that reveal our interconnection in a time of unraveling.
“The Glorians are reaching out to us, inviting us to engage,” she says. “If we are present, we will know what to do.”
Moving between story, ecology, and spirit, she offers a way of seeing that feels less like escape and more like a return to relationship.

Watching this curious marmot try to reclaim its share of a snack is more than just a cute moment—it’s a masterclass in the unyielding persistence found in nature. Whether it’s scaled-down adventures in our own Zone 6B property or witnessing these inter-species interactions in the mountains, there’s a raw potential for connection everywhere we look.
At Plant Parenting 360, we’re molding our children—our "soft clay"—to appreciate these simple, grounding rhythms. When Avia and Ethan witness the playful determination of a creature like this, they’re learning the blueprint of respect and kinship for all living beings. We’re providing the steady anchors they need to grow into "Giants" who value nature over the synthetic fog of the modern world.
To foster this high-vibrational resilience in your home sanctuary:
Forge Grit through Observation: Encourage your family to slow down and notice the inhabitants of your sanctuary. True holistic strength is built on the patience required to observe and understand the natural world.
Maintain the Village: Remember that every creature plays a role in our ecosystem. Protecting their environment through a pure, plant-powered lifestyle is how we engineer a legacy of health for a century to come.
Return to the Rhythms: Find joy in the "little things"—a curious animal, a blooming flower, or a shared moment in the sun—that remind us of our limitless connection to the earth.
Let’s protect the sanctity of our development by staying curious. When we nourish our families with nature and honor the spirit of the wild, we are planting the seeds for limitless vitality. 🌿🐿️✨
