At some point you realize nobody else is coming to write your story for you.
You are the writer.
You are the director.
You are the CEO.
And damn right, you are the main character.
I chose this career because I needed to change the direction of my life and my kids’ lives. I needed something that would give us stability, independence, and a future I could build with my own two hands.
Ironwork did exactly that.
Every early morning. Every long drive. Every 12-18 hour day. Every sore muscle, busted knuckle, freezing winter morning and miserable summer afternoon has been worth it because my kids have watched their mom build a life instead of waiting for one to happen.
And somewhere along the way, the career I chose because I needed it became a career I genuinely love.
I love being an ironworker.
I love the work.
I love the people.
I love looking back at something we built and knowing my hands were part of it.
And the bonus?
I don't need everybody to understand it. I don't need everybody to like it. This life wasn't written for them.
It's mine.
So write your own damn story. Change the plot when you need to. Start a new chapter when the old one isn't working.
Because at the end of the day, you're the one who has to live the story you're writing.
And I'm pretty damn proud of mine. 🖤
