Here is how to know if Glass is right for you. I also want to say that you can easily add a privacy film to any glass if you have clear glass somewhere that you change your mind about. I even put privacy on a window at our house that was right next to our neighbors house.
OK, you want clear glass if you have a beautiful view out your front door! This door is basically like having a window and it’s added so much more light into the main living area. People walking by cannot see in through this door. Yes if someone comes right up to the door, they can see in, but it’s a view that is not exposing.
I really wanted a glass door with fixed external grills-that means those little grid pieces are on the outside of the glass not on the inside between the glass panels.
We chose a fiberglass door which is great for the varying temperatures where we live. You can’t drill into it in case you’re thinking about drilling in shades. You could fix them with a strong adhesive though. Or you could add a curtain rod above the door.
The store had a standard bore and that’s something you need to know about when you are selecting the handle hardware.
We ordered/installed this from a big box store and had a couple hiccups, but in the end, it looks fantastic!
Our door size is a little less common so we had to wait a long time like two months for a custom door.

LOUISIANA…. 🐊 🦞 🎣 Living in Louisiana is like living in a swamp. It pretty much just stays wet all the time so it’s almost impossible to keep any wood products from rotting. It was a really big deal to change the windows in my home. Originally they were solid wood I changed to wood on the inside Clad material on the outside. I had no idea that windows were so expensive. Sticker shock for real and it’s not a lot of fun because at least when you’re doing interior design you walk into a beautiful home 🏡 that makes your feel all warm and fuzzy 💕❤️💕❤️💕when you’re changing windows it’s just the same old same old. I decided to make some changes. That was scary too because what if I change the architectural beauty of my home. I’m super happy with the outcome. I went from nine lights up top nine lights at the bottom which was 18 total on my bay windows, and I changed it to four lights top for lights bottom which was eight lights. I loved it the original way, but honestly I love it the way I changed it. I’m really happy with it. What are your thoughts? Do you need to change your windows?
