We are excited to open interest for placement with An Insightful Journey (AIJ) for the 2026–2027 CSU Stanislaus MSW Practicum Program. At AIJ, students engage in initiatives rooted in equity and social justice while gaining experience at the intersection of policy, practice, and participatory research. Through our C.A.R.R.E. Framework—Collaboration, Advocacy, Resource, Research, and Education—students work alongside communities to translate lived experience into knowledge that informs advocacy, research, and meaningful change. Our practicum experience offers exposure to macro, mezzo, and micro practice while supporting the development of professional portfolios and applied skills in policy analysis, research, and community engagement. What if your summer internship put you inside a real neuroscience lab? That’s exactly what happened with Riya! Last summer, the Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation hosted a Nova School and PVPUSD high school intern, Riya Singh so she could get real-world experience of working with cutting-edge neuroscience research. Riya Singh worked alongside Dr. Mina Desai and her team to investigate how maternal diet affects neural stem cell development - conducting experiments, analyzing data, and uncovering the connection between fructose exposure and brain development. From live cell cultures to presenting her findings at the culmination ceremony - she didn’t just observe science, she became part of the discovery. 🧠 Watch this clip from Riya’s presentation at the LEAD Summit - her passion and confidence says it all! A huge thank you to the Lundquist Institute for opening your doors and mentoring the next generation of researchers! At Nova School, we are proud to power the LEAD Internship Program, connecting schools, students, and employers to shape tomorrow’s leaders today. Applications for Summer 2026 are open. Want to learn more? Attend our next info session — link in bio. #highschoolinternship #summerprogram #highschool #futureofwork #studentsuccess

In a practical seminar, Sociology students were given the opportunity to explore first-hand the power of creative, visual and participatory research methods. Sociologists typically use these methods with research participants to enable a different kind of communication, go beyond words and verbal expression, promote empathy and understanding, and to research sensitive topics or work with vulnerable groups.
